stuttering tts voice primo 1.2

Postby Blackstar » Tue Jan 10, 2012 9:33 pm

Hi guys,

i have just changed to primo 1.2 from igo8 and i must say that i like it a lot ! the only problem is that the tts voice sometimes stutters and sometimes will cut out when saying a instruction, and even sometimes miss out instructions for roundabouts and sometimes turnings for sidestreets, anybody know why this could be happening and how i could fix it ?

thanks guys !

i think this is the sys.txt...

[sound]
csv_voice_enabled=1

[debug]
experimental_features="1"

[network]
available="1"

[folders]
has_secondary_root=0

the only voice that seems to stutter/miss, is the kate tts voice all the others seem to be okay and workable

Kate is a Loquendo TTS voice, As you're running Primo 1.2 why not use Nuance TTS Pro

is this easy to install ? im a complete newbie to this ! i did try to install some new voices {may have been theses actually !}
and all that happened was, it got stuck on the susan voice and i could'nt change the voice as it crashed every time i tried ! i ended up deleting my sd card and re-installing primo again, i must have done something wrong somewhere....so if you can explain how to do it, i will give it another go and hopefully this time it will work !

i have had a good read of the instructions,
if i delete the existing tts folder:-

TTS Pro_English_AU

and replace with the new downloaded folder :-

TTS Pro_English_UK

will this work ?

Put the tts_nua_v5 folder in the Primo root folder, Within this folder should be a COMMON folder and several 'language' folders, eg, ENG, ENU, AUS etc.

You need the file VAUTOV5.DLL in the Primo root folder as well

Then place the voice files (Voice_TTS-nua-eng-uk-f1-lua-dri40-vssq5f22.zip) into ..\Primo\Content\Voice

I usually add these lines to the sys.txt...
[SPOILER=sys.txt][sound]
ding=0
queue_length=200
mute_os_key=1
pause_mp3_sooner=1
csv_voice_enabled=1

[tts]
automatic_direction_conversion=1
tts_buffer=131072
announce_exit_directions=1
tts_logics=3
priority="VERY_HIGH"
always_say_road_names=3
announce_street_name=1
skip_exit_numbers=0[/spoiler]
...probably not required now but force of habit for me.
