TMC with Primo 2

First question is does the hardware have to have a special TMC built in. I'm assuming so. So if so I'm stuffed. This is my unit:-

Primo 2, at least for me, does not require any sys.txt settings or statements. Much like the GPS hardware, if a TMC receiver is detected, Primo will go ahead and start using it. On some more stubborn devices, you may need something like the following (substituting the values for the actual hardware on your device, of course):

[tmc]
show_tmc=1
port="COM,1"
baud=38400
source="gns"

BUT: Just having an "FM Radio" is not enough. You must have specific TMC hardware either built into the device, or added on by USB, etc. Though the TMC signals USE radio frequency, a radio alone is not enough. My guess would be that your in-dash unit has no TMC functionality that GPS software can use.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Yes, and yes. :(
Some in-dash units advertise "Traffic Information", but what this generally means is, IF you happen to be tuned to an FM frequency/station that piggy-backs the TMC info on their broadcast (many, in fact MOST do not, and some of those that do require a subscription), then you get a text crawl on the FM display. Certainly not very convenient (or safe) to squint at that while driving. But no reception is possible through GPS with that setup.

Oh, and here is a general tip for you: if you edit your posts, please do not remove the original question..it makes any replies look a bit odd as if they are answering something you did not ask. Better to just post another reply/question in order. Also, if you edit a post, it will not show up as "New Posts", and may be missed altogether if you had additional questions. Like this one.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

I've got Primo 2 running with no issues. TMC isn't working. My previous IGO Primo v9.2..1.1794909 - TMC worked. There was a Traffic Icon in the Pre-Map, and an Antenna Icon on the map. Now, nothing, except Traffic History is Checked under Traffic. No other items are showing in Traffic.

No adjustments have been made to the sys.txt file, as it was not necessary in v9.2.

I've added in the Root:
gpstmc.pil
gpstmc.dll
tmcgps.dll
atmc_ce.dll

There is also a TMC folder in Content.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could be a couple reasons for that.
1) If you have TOO MANY TMC-related dlls in the root (even if one is the correct one), Primo may not know which to use. Delete all but the correct one (whatever worked in your previous version).
2) You do not have the correct dll there at all. Again, use what worked with the same hardware on your previous install.
3) On SOME devices, Primo may need a kick start with TMC by entering the settings in sys.txt one time (after success, you can then take them back out again).
Something like this:
[tmc]
show_tmc=1
port="COM,1"
baud=38400
source="gns"

Substituting your actual hardware settings, of course.

Once one of those causes is determined to be the one, you should then get the checkbox as expected.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Evidently, IGO Primo V2 uses different .dll's for TMC than v1.2. It's working now! V2 auto detects everything well. Solved.
