TomTom for WinCE?

Wed Oct 05, 2011 1:42 pm

I have been told that this TT program is for WinCE devices but I could not swear to it. I know nothing about its operation so if you want to try it and you get it to work on your device, please post here about how you did it. TT maps can be found in the TT section.

chas521,
Just downloaded this and it appears to be the same one I came across somewhere a few weeks ago, Can't remember where it was as I would like to have thanked the person.

I have used this on a foehn & hirsch 4.3 satnav wince 5.0 for a few weeks now and it works great. Previously I had issues trying various tt 7910 and 7450 versions and they kept freezing after a couple of minutes. But since using this version and with upto date maps and speedcams I have had no problems with it.

It may not have TTS and 3D buildings etc but if you want a simple satnav programme that will get you from A-B this is the one.

I would recommend anyone who has had problems running tt on a wince 5 to give this a try (Always remember to backup first)

i installed this in the usual manner but changed the folder name and exe to suit my menu system

It's WinCE not TT Linux. In the TT section, it will only get lost and WinCE members will never see it.

875_3615 maps that are contained in a separate folder

Are you saying that any maps can be used? Where did you place the maps? In iGO, it's content\map. Did you have to name it anything specific? What exactly did you do? Thanks.

Getting confused here!!

The tomnav download is TomTom prgramme that will work on wince 5.0. Its NOT a iGO programme.

To use on my satnav I had to extract the tomnav.rar file using winrar, I then renamed the tomnav folder to navigator.
the exe file in the folder is called TomTom Navigator.exe, I changed its name to mobilenavigator.exe.

This folder is now called navigator ,the map folder can be downloaded from this site. I used United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_875_3615. These 2 folders were then uploaded to my SD card. I used AutoActivate to activate the map and all works perfectly. Remember to use a map for the country that you need.
The tomtom section will give you more info on how to install onto your device if needed

Tomtom Navigator installation guide

@huggy

I think you misunderstood me. Igo maps go into content\map. Bearing this is mind where do you put TT maps in the TT program? I was just using iGO as an example.

Tomtom maps are a collection of files within a folder named something like "United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 875_3675", This folder goes in the root of the memory card/device...

E:\United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 875_3675\Cline.dat
E:\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe

Maps require activation/patching with AutoActivate.exe or FastActivate.exe

Hi Chas521,
as FBF has said. I have attached a picture showing the layout on my SD card if I only had tomtom on it. I also have folder called mobilenavigator that contains my menu system that I use to run other programmes like igo primo, memorymap, navigon etc

Nicely done. It will definitely make it easier for some now. Thanks.
