Trying to get altitude to be displayed and get directions ea

Postby RoadnTrail » Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:57 pm

Hello,

I am using a Mio C310X using iGO8, Navteq maps 2010 4Q North America, and the GJ6.18p_da (DVSI & gurjon) skin. I have selected Settings>TC Settings>and checked Precision altitude. The altitude is not displayed.

I did get it for a while with an older map and Gurjon skin. Any clues as how to display it?

Also, is there a way to get the directions spoken earlier or at a greater distance before the turn?

Many thanks.

I can get Altitude on Ce5 but not on Ce6 2Din in my wifes car with or without the skin. Been messing about for a year...
If I turn off Primo from within program and turn on again it comes up ..Tried all I( can think of, possibly an issue with the way unit software communicates with gps pcb in my instance?

I too would like to get directions earlier as well.
I tried playing around with this in sys.txt from Yurbuh Tubbly but I couldnt make it do any thing for me :(

[gps]
delay="125"; Typical settings are 125, 250, 500 (in milliseconds). "Correct GPS delay

Your device is too old, not enough memory, slow cpu, you use some customized skin, not original, and all that things make slower your device, try to set more memory for programs in Win CE, if you have unlocked device, probably you have, that's reason why sometimes voice is late, or gps reciever can't get so fast position and does processing of route in that moment, cpu like 600 mhz, and more resources 128-256 MB like i have on my pna, do this execellent, and voice is sinhronized very good with processic route and recalculation, don't expect too much from too old pna device...
I'm all what I'm not!

Is there some programming to increase the memory?

If you can get to the "system" control panel applet you may be able to slide the memory division to the left to get a bit more memory but this won't turn a 64MB device into a 128MB device.

That's for sure. Except on some older PDA's (which shared "Ram" and "storage" 50/50), on a modern PNA, it may turn 62.5 MB of available memory all the way up to 63 MB.

On the xda-developers forum people had the same issue, lag. A program called GpsModDriver was posted there that brings you forward a few seconds in time.
I have downloaded it and will have a play over the coming weekend.

I know that programme, It sorts out ALL the GPS issues on the Omnia II, Interesting to find out if it works on WinCE...

I'm pretty sure it's Windows Mobile only, where GPS is supported in the OS
