It looks like the device will run tpro_update.exe from the SD card before starting the default software.

Try renaming one of the exe's and see...

Note: tpro_update.exe should be in the root of the card!

ok I have looked at the original sd card and there is one folder called sound with all the languages and the map file and that's it. Im using another sd card with igo maps and I renamed igo.exe to tpro_update.exe if that's what you meant and nothing, still wont play maps. I think im out of my depth here. I might need a simpler explanation for this one. Thanks Fatboyfun

Was it in the root? ie, not inside an igo folder.

5680 (FilemanCE file explorer)

Download this, rename the exefile to tpro_update.exe and place all the files on an empty sd card.
Make sure the files are not inside a folder.

Put card into device and turn on, or reboot.

Even if you manage to unlock the Becker 7916 I think you will have problems (I have the flashy red Ferrari version in a cupboard somewhere). I don't think the hardware will be up to running Igo Primo its simply not powerful enough. These units were sold in 2006 and are now to all intents and purposes obsolete. You may get Igo 8.3 running and there was once a special service lead available to connect to a PC and give you full browse access to the unit but I've no idea where you would now get one from. I think you may be better off investing in some slightly newer hardware.
