I'm only speculating that they will work better together because all the official releases of Primo (Europe) use this new type of map and the nuance TTS. One of the biggest problems I have had with loquendo and .fbl maps is the ability to differentiate between abbreviations for words like street and saint. For example, as it is now for "St Peter St." it with either say "Street Peter Street" or "Saint Peter Saint", but not the correct "Saint Peter Street". There are fairly easy ways to correct this with loquendo, but it's a tiring process to try to fix all the errors. I can just imagine a package that works correctly right out of the box, and I think hnr/nuance may be the package, and may be the reason NNG has made the change.

True, except that my modified TTS_LOQ along with kamoteka took care of those St. problems with pronunciation changes in the .lex file. And it works fine with Primo as well.

I used your TTS package as a starting point with iGO8.3. It is better but it still had lots of errors in my area with the NT NA 2009Q2 maps. I spent lots of hours modifying your .lex file even more. In fact in my example of St Peters it would say "Straight Peters". It may be perfect for your area with whatever maps you use, but for me nuance works better and pronounces words better without any modifications. I am sticking with nuance and I encourarage everyone to try it.

Deleted the dem and building files as suggested and the 3d view works great.

I also changed to nuance from TTS_LOQ. I've been loyal to Susan for ~2 years, but it I think I may have to dump her for Samantha. She's not perfect, but the pronunciation seems better for my area. Having said that, last night I drove down "Saint Paul" and this morning I was on "Ontario Saint North". Looks like she's set to say "Saint" for "St" unless it is at the end of the place name.

The other issue I've noticed with Sam is that she changes her volume between some directions and place names eg. turn right onto MAIN STREET then left onto PINE STREET. Not a huge difference, but noticable sometimes.

Good to hear it worked, it just seems to be a low memory or processor speed issue. It takes a lot of resources to generate the 3D terrain in motion.

I haven't noticed any volume changes with Samantha. I wonder if that's in your settings somewhere.

I have the following in my sys.txt, taken directly from an ini file in iGO8 that came on my device.

[dynamiccompressor]
compressor="1"
a0="56806"
thrs="24703"
ratio="8"
gain="8" ;to boost the volume

[sound]
mute_os_key=1
use_os_volume=1

I change the version of Sam to ASRN and added these lines and the volume is much more consistent. Thanks VFR.
