TTS Voices Question on how to setup on IGO primo

Postby suerte » Tue Jul 23, 2013 10:41 pm

"To use Loquendo TTS voices in Primo you must do this:
You must add in the voice file:
tts_engine="loquendo" in "info.ini" file"

This is a quote from the TT voices guide, I can't find that info.ini file where is it? What folder? I am using IGO primo 2.0 and 2.4.

Also the TTS_LOQ folder I have to create in the primo root folder? Because there was none there, and copy the files from your download into them? Is this correct?

As written - "in the voice file". If your voice file name is "Voice_TTS-loq-Eng-us-f1.zip", this info.ini in inside this voice zip file.

The voice files should be in the content/voice folder.

In addition, you need the .dll files in the Primo root folder.
Don't forget to add this to your sys.txt:
[sound]
csv_voice_enabled=1

Yes, add the TTS_LOQ folder to your Primo root plus add the 4 dlls to the root also. The files/folders are not in the Primo root when you first install Primo. You have to add them.

Thank you for the quick answers

Once more question about the .dll files I have a a Windows CE 6.0 device. The instructions say use Windows CE 5.0 are these the correct .dll for WIN CE 6.0?

Hmmm. The unit I am using is a Eonon D5151 running Windows CE 6 with 128MB. The TT voices don't seem to work. I did everything as per instructions, including unzipping and adding this line
tts_engine="loquendo"
and then zipping up again each individual voice folder with the change.

I wonder if the .dll are the problem...

You don't need to unzip, use winrar as it allows you to edit files within the archive.
When you unzip and re-zip iGO's files things usually go horribly wrong.

Yeah I download the "talk" folder and replaced the zip file again in content/voice folder. I noticed that the line

tts_engine="loquendo"
is not actually needed to add, it is already added to the info.ini file in that download.

The TT voices still don't work after putting back the original TT Voices zips. I am testing them in setting in IGO 2.4. The other voices work fine. though....

Is there anything inside your tts_loq folder? this is where the loquendo tts engine should be, and there should be folders inside it that are specific to each voice file installed in content\voice

I've heard via PM that Loquendo voices do not work with WinCE 6 - only 4.2 and 5.0. YT's Primo 2.4 post has different language TTS. If it's only English that you're looking for, I've also made a post in that thread. Sorry!

The feature TTS PRO is greyed out in sound setting of IGO, when I use the "Natural Voices" they work fine. When I select a TTS voice it immediately goes back to the Natural one.

Excellent! that worked for me! The TTS voices work. I replaced all the files from that download. I removed the loquendo voice files in the voice folder and replaced all them with the ones from this download. The rest of the folders in the content directory I left be.

Thank you so much been struggling with this for a bit, you just made my day!
