Unable to install IGO on Chinese 2-Din Eonopn D5109

Fri Aug 12, 2011 1:15 pm

First, I would like to thank moderators for great work they are putting into this.

I have purchased this unit:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

I have followed steps Nabi wrote on his tutorial here:

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?909-Double-din-2Din-GPS-How-to-install-thread

But I still am unable to make the damn thing work#"$%#"(/

I contacted Nabi over PM, he gave me some advices, but this way someone else can benefit from this problem.

I unrared file 2Din90500v1.rar (there is also a talk about 2Din90500v2.rar, but I cannot find it).

I then extracted DB800480 ( I was written by manufacturer that this is a resolution their GPS uses), all of course on 2Gb micro SD.

When I put it into unit, I only get Igo in top left quarter of display with option to click "find" and I can click that, then there is a country Hungary ?? listed...I click there and it frezzes...

Then i 2 new folders on card, "backup " and "device.nng". I deleted those and with help of Nabi, changed sys.txt and I used 8.3.4. buitt exe file, but I get this error:

"Failed to open file: ui_igo8\400_240\loading.bmp"

Sys.txt looks like this now:

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8_da"
vga=1
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
laneinfo_signpost_enabled=1

[rawdisplay] screen_x=800 screen_y=480

[map]

3d_max_zfar=500
;3d_scale_carmodel=1
;3dcarsizemin=60
;3dcarsizemax=70
;3dcarsizemul=65

[roundaboutcam]

skip_eula=1
enable_roadshadow=1

[sound]
sound_q_length=200
queue_length=200
ding=0

[msnd]
msnd.start=0

Thats it, please can anyone help me?

I will provide additional info if needed, dunno what else I need to post.

Thank you in advance, Zelko from Slovenia.

You clearly have a resolution issue.

First in sys txt is [rawdisplay] screen_x=800 screen_y=480
should be 3 lines and look like :

[rawdisplay]
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

I don't think it matters a lot, but do it anyway. ;)

Change the line vga=1 to

;vga=1

(put a ; in front) and retry

Fri Aug 12, 2011 2:55 pm

Tried that, no luck.

Still getting "Failed to open file: ui_igo8\400_240\loading.bmp"

Damn!

Fri Aug 12, 2011 3:45 pm

According to what I read in the link you provided, your resolution is 800_480. Nabi is correct. So why are you getting an error message about 400_240?

EDIT: FWIW, this has your resolution http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-5-2011

Fri Aug 12, 2011 4:09 pm

No idea why. I used 800-480 file from Navi thread.

chrom15 wrote:I used 800-480 file from Navi thread.

Did you use the resolution tester first?
Many times a Double Din will not run navigation software at the "[color="darkred"]advertised[/color]" resolution--[color="darkred"]this is often only for movies and other multi-media[/color].

Fri Aug 12, 2011 4:39 pm

I tried all three, couldn't get either to work, so I wrote mail to them and they said they use this resolution. Will try testers again when I get home.

Thank you guys for all the help you are providing.

Fri Aug 12, 2011 6:34 pm

Know that when you followed my instructions and downloaded the db800480.rar file, the only resolution applicable is 800*480.
So why you get "Failed to open file: ui_igo8\400_240\loading.bmp" message makes me wonder. When all this is over and your device is properly working, we will wonder how simple it was to solve. It always is simple. Just to find that simple thing is different every time and not always easy.

Copy the sys txt to your pc and replace with this one. (copy - paste in notepad, save as sys.txt)

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8_da"
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
laneinfo_signpost_enabled=1

[map]
2dheadup=1
3d_max_tiltlevel=9000
3d_default_tiltlevel=9000
3d_max_zoomlevel=500
3d_min_zoomlevel=40
3d_max_zfar=500
;3d_scale_carmodel=1
;3dcarsizemin=60
;3dcarsizemax=70
;3dcarsizemul=65

[roundaboutcam]
enabled=0 ;(1)
centery=20 ;(50)

[screen]
menu_animation=0

[navigation]
show_current_city=1
show_countrychange=1

[debug]
disable_outlookpoi=1
show_oneway=1
show_speed_limit=1
skip_eula=1
enable_roadshadow=1

[sound]
sound_q_length=200
queue_length=200
ding=0

[msnd]
msnd.start=0

This is the same sys.txt as before, but without the resolution dependable lines. Hopefully iGO will fill it in by itself. IGO should that intelligent.
Also delete the save folder before starting iGO!

Then try and see what happens. When iGO gives an error, what is it?
Also look in the save folder (fresh made after restart) for a file called system.ini. Is there a line that tells us something about the resolution?
What does it say?

Fri Aug 12, 2011 7:15 pm

This little utility of mine will tell you your devices resolution plus some other stuff

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6289-WinCE-Device-Information.&p=44922#post44922

Fri Aug 12, 2011 8:27 pm

@Fatboyfun:

WinCE Device Information, 2011 Fatboyfun http://www.navitotal.com

DEVICE INFORMATION.

Screen resolution 800x480
Windows CE 5
Free / Total memory available 61700 KB / 98300KB

GPS INFORMATION.

Port=2
Baudrate=4800
SyncTimeout=30000
SleepAfterOpenPort=1000

@Nabi: Did that, no changes, still the same error message.

System.ini had nothing about resolution, was practically empty, only smtg like Rawdisplay Wide and nothing else.

Will format micro Sd now and try from the beginning again...Or throw the goddamn thing from some skyscraper.

Thank you all for your help so far.

Fri Aug 12, 2011 9:34 pm

So keeps searching for a 400*240 resolution file, while the device is 800*480 and 800*480 is the only available resolution. Strange.
If starting over don't help, try to install the download offered by chas521.

Sat Aug 13, 2011 9:14 am

Hi, back again.

I tried the download offered by chas521 and made some progress. Igo starts, I can choose language (English/Us), then voice etc...Problem is, it only runs in left upper quarter, so only 1/4 of the screen.

Another thing is when I click find, I am offered country Hungary and cannot change?? I am not in Hungary nor ever was?!

When I bought the unit, I tried one copy of Igo Primo, It did not work of course, maybe this is left now?

Sys.ini looks like this now:

Just for the heck of it, try this build and see what happens:

Sat Aug 13, 2011 10:03 am

No need yet, Yurbuh !!!
Check the sys.txt, it says : resolution_dir="480_272" while we now it is 800_480. So chrom15, change it, please.

Sorry. Did not mean to step on any toes. And yes, I saw that resolution setting also. But I also saw, when re-reading the thread, that at first he tried Primo but was not successful, so I thought maybe that was what he truly wanted. But I'm probably wrong, so just ignore me.
YT out.
