Unencrypt IGO .lex files

Mon Aug 04, 2014 1:45 pm

I am working on getting IGO 8.3.5 working on my Eonon (chinese) 2DIN unit. I pretty much have everything going except I would like to fix an annoying spoken road problem. Since I live in connecticut there are a lot of state roads such as CT-9, iGO announces this as "court-9" (I believe since ct. is also an abbreviation for court). I have read that i need to edit the *.lex files in the tts_log folder to fix this. These files however seem to be encrypted. I have read about a problem lexconv.exe that will unencrypt them for editing, but all the links I can find are dead and google doesn't seem to help too much. Does anyone have that program?

Thanks

I don't know, I don't use TTS.
However, I checked a TTS voice (Loquendo) and the files to edit are in csv or txt format. See in the folder content/voice/voice_name.zip/config.
DO NOT UNZIP but do the edit by opening in winrar or TotalCommander.

If you had used my Igo 8.3.5 instead of from a lesser site you would be able to correct that problem with no trouble. I'll link you later when I'm on my computer.

8.3.5. program: program-data-zip-branding-zip-license-f83/igo8-183522-march-2011-t15455.html#p126544

Open TTS_LOQ folder, open EnglishUS folder, open EnglishUS6.9.lex file and follow my lead there. All editing MUST be done at the beginning of the lex file using "Textpad" or you will break the format and lose all TTS. Be sure to save the lex file before exiting it.

Thanks chas521, I will give it a try.

I made a mirror, couldn't find a way to append the link to your other thread, so here it is for anyone else if the first link dies.
