Upgrade IGO to Primo advice

Postby troobloo » Tue Jul 16, 2013 1:25 am

Hi,
I currently have an in dash S60 GPS with the following:
Nav N Go IGO8
8.3.4.102680
Aug 13 2009

Windows @ CE 6.0
Memory Storage 112996 KB
Available Memory 94600 KB

Prior to attempting to upgrade to Yurbuh Tuggly Primo 2 is my GPS capable of running this program?
If so, what map and content version do I need to display alert points in Australia?

From the information you provide, and my limited knowledge, it seems that you can upgrade, CE6.0 + 128kb Mem is what needed, with the hope that the unit doesn't need to be unlocked.
Don't forget to backup your original program+content before starting. If a SD card is in use, use a new formatted one for the upgrade.

When you done, both Navteq and WhereiS maps should be fine for your needs.

Thanx,

How do I find out about whether the unit needs to be unlocked or not.
It is a chinese aftermarket unit.
I have tried other versions of primo that seem to work well except that speedcams and schoolzones will not display at all. Crash zones and railway crossings do.
That's why I am starting to try and uograde from the beginning again and YT stable primo.

For the most part, a device is unlocked so that it can use different nav programs. Not all devices require unlocking though.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.
