You're welcome. And PS regarding the Volume issue. I think you will find that nothing within Primo (sys.txt or any modification of any *.voice files) will have much effect beyond the volume sliders that are already there. In the Android version, the TTS volume is totally a function of the Android system...since it is the Android TTS Engine that actually controls the Primo TTS voices (as opposed to the WinCE versions).
However, if you use/install the SVOX engine (engine is free, voices not so much) you will find that you can increase the TTS volume by more than 200% which is quite loud. Other engines (Pico, etc) do not seem to have such adjustments available.

Made some more observations about the volume today. Primo is using the Nexus volume setting "music/media" to set its TTS volume.

I tried boosting the svox volume to 200% and it affects the Nexus volume but not Primos! I had system TTS messages at much louder volume than Primo's TTS whilst running Primo.
It's starting to look to me like I'm just going to have to shut off the music when I want directions which is a shame.

Do you mean an actual different tts voice ie Oliver, or do you mean a male primo tts voice file?

Try either or both. I have not noticed much difference between the Primo {voice}.zip files, but I have noticed some significant differences sometimes with the Android (engine) TTS voices. I tried so many, I can't remember which worked best. Currently I am using SVOX Michael US English and it seems plenty loud, but I don't combine it with music playback like you, so I can't really say.

The TTS voice used only starts the phones TTS, as long as it's from the same language, ie, English GB it will sound the same, if you use a French voice and you have French TTS installed on your phone, then you'll get French language spoken.

I'm wondering if it's a individual voice problem or an application problem.

I installed the Oliver voice and tried it out this morning without changing the Primo TTS file and whilst I got a male voice instead of the usual female, the volume problem was still there :-( I'll have a hunt around and see if I can find a Primo TTS male voice file but I'm doubtful. As you say, the Primo files are just pointers to the installed Android TTS system.

I really don't know much about Android. But does the Loquendo TTS voice work? I ask this because a while back I increased the volume of the LOQ English [US and UK] by 20%.

There is no actual engine within Primo itself. And only the skeletal {voice}.zip's "work" completely...and only then after the engine line is taken out of the INI file. I seriously doubt that doing anything to the {voice}.zip file will change anything.

Yes, the loquendos work if you have the csv enabled parameter in your sys.txt which I do :) Any chance of sharing either your methodology or your files?

I can make all the iGO products work with my louder LOQ voices by having the user download my TTS_LOQ folder and the proper .dlls with my voices. What I want to know is if LOQ will work with Android?

Engine = no.
There is no TTS engine within Primo Android, any "TTS" folder will be ignored (or perhaps cause Primo Android not to start since it may 'know' that such a folder does not belong within the file structure), and no Android product can use *.dll's from any other platform.
Now NON-TTS may be another story, but that's not what we are talking about.
Like (most) versions of Primo, it was designed to use Nuance voices. The WinCE versions can be nudged to use Loquendo, but the Android version is different.

Yup, tried the "Natural" voices too and they have about the same volume as the TTS in Primo. What's bugging me is that when the rest of the system (ie not primo) makes a TTS announcement (incoming text etc) THAT volume level is easily heard over music. This is whilst Primo is actually running and making quiet TTS announcements. Most vexing.
