@Magnu420

My program[s] will work with no problem. But let me also say that Fatboyfun is an excellent mod and he knows what he is talking about. Keep the faith!

ok tried the primo one which chas posted, nothing put in by me except the screen res,gps setting and the path to the primo.exe in the system text,no maps (apart from base map),removed US voices,no speed cams, just a basic build, half way thru in setting it up it crashed, memory issue, crash log uploaded

is there anything i can put in system text to resolve the memory issue, and i still cant get that easyshell to fire up
in the satnav,is there other way to gain more ram on this unit

soz to be a pain on this

Just a quick question from me. Which program did you download and install? The iGO8, Primo 1.1 or Primo 1.2? I recommend iGO8 not Primo

i got these from post 10 which you posted

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-5-2011
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?5500-November-Primo-1.1-from-my-device
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?4841-Working-Primo-1.2-with-TTS-from-my-device

tried igo8 no problems i just cant get used to it (maybe its because of the look up icon and gps icon on left hand side)

tried primo 1.2 (thats what it said on main folder)love the layout and the features, that gave me problem see post 18
will try primo 1.1 after and will let you know

Checking and adjusting the system memory division may help with Primo.

The easiest way to get to the WinCE control panel is to create a SHELL.ini that points to it.

So...

Open Notepad on your PC and type...

\Windows\Control.exe

Save as SHELL.ini not SHELL.ini.txt

Pop the file onto a SD card and insert into your device

Switch the device off and on again

Tap OK then Navigation and the control panel will open.

Select System

Open Memory tab

Drag slider to left

This will maximize the available RAM, More often than not it's set halfway, meaning that on a 64MB device you only have 32MB RAM for programmes.

Image

Don't worry if your device's control panel doesn't look exactly like the images, the principal is the same.

Your device should remember this setting, even after being powered off.

ok i made a .ini file with \Windows\Control.exe on the file, put the card into satnav, turned it on
pressed ok after chimes, tap navigation button, it went off then a big splash screen with navigation
came on then went back to showing navigation, gps, settings menu, done this several times and i still cant
get into the control panel :( also i tried the easy shell again and thats same as before, and ive used
a new sd card aswell

soz to be a pain in the butt with this @fatboy

@chas the reason i dont like igo8 is because how the icons are on the left hand side, binoclears, compass, gps signal.maybe its because ive been using tt too long or summat

Remove everything from the card except the SHELL.ini with the path to \Windows\Control.exe in it

Physically turn off your device with the on-off switch, Not the standby button.

This may be one of those device's that don't use SHELL.ini, Instead just looks for...
\SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe

It's only ever the X-Series Binatone's that have issues!!!

That sounds like EasyShell is still there...

Delete everything off the SD card and place the MobileNavigator folder and SHELL.ini from the attached archive on it, Reboot device, Tap OK then Navigation...

The Control Panel should open... (I hope)

The default shell is still getting in the way!

In the MobileNavigator folder from the archive above, Open MobileNavigator.mscr with notepad on your PC and add the line...

Kill ("JBSHello.exe")

so the page looks like...

Kill ("JBSHello.exe")
Run ("\Windows\Control.exe")

Reboot the device and try again...

Thats an easy fix, When you get it going adding an GJ or Dimka skin.\ changes the look for the better.
