Hello All I've noticed that Primo 2 has settings like Fast, Green, Easy, mine is set on fast. Which is the best setting so that
iGO keeps to the main roads instead of choosing backstreet "shortcuts"

I think it(s best to set it on "easy"

Wow !!! that was quick thanks I'll got out now and see if there is any difference

I think Fast will pefer highways more often, Green will well take you through environmentally "friendly" roads?
and easy is just probably a balanced mix of everything

I have just tried it on easy and it is much better. it now avoids "shortcuts" and carries on down the main road

This depends on your device and how you unlocked it.

Hello There, it's nice when the "top Brass" try to help. My device is a Chinese in dash media player satnav, it has a 4 gb sd card with primo 2 on.It came with Sygic drive 10 which was years out of date but you had to press "Navi" to load it.I downloaded the latest Primo 2, maps, POI etc from this forum and put it on the formatted 4gb card then went through the installation procedure, all is well but even if you shut down the last route and close Primo when you come to drive the car again it loads primo. I thought there might be a line of code I could put in the *.txt file to stop it

Can you explain the installation procedure?

I meant the first time loading of Primo there is no special installation needed

I mean how did you get primo to start, did you replace sygic, did you create or edit a file on the device to point to primo instead of sygic?

To answer the original question ~ Route Planning Method Types:
[FAST is the default & usually the best to use]
Button Description
FAST Gives a quick route if you can travel at or near the speed limit on all
roads. Usually the best selection for fast and normal cars.
SHORT Gives a short route to minimize the distance to travel. Usually practical
for pedestrians, cyclists or slow vehicles. Searching for a short route
regardless of the speed, this route type is rarely practical for normal
vehicles.
GREEN Gives a quick but fuel efficient route based on the fuel consumption data
given in Green Routing settings. Travel cost and CO2 emission calculations
are estimations only. They cannot take elevations, curves and traffic
conditions into account.
EASY Results in a route with fewer turns and no difficult maneuvers. With this
option, you can make iGO primo to take, for example, the freeway[motorway]
instead of a series of smaller roads or streets.

Reply to fatboyslim, the saynav files are on a micro sd card, when I put the Sygic card in for the first time I had to navigate to the file with Sygic on it on my unit and select it. When I put the seperate iGO card for the first time in I did the same thing and Primo worked fine. With the Sygic card in I would switch my ignition on and when the system had finished booting then have to press "NAVI" on the touch screen to load it. With Primo it always loads iGO after booting everytime no matter what I was using previously and I would like to have to select it because most times I use my media player.

OK, i would look at the original card, you probably had some sort of shell (selection menu) that was started first, then when you pressed the Navi button Sygic started.
It might be possible to extract the shell and install it the the iGO card, If not there are plenty around the forum...
