100% EMPTY TomTom ONE IQ Routes recovery

Postby HatManSan » Thu Jun 30, 2016 5:10 pm

Greetings All,

I have done a bit of skipping on this forum and find a bewildering array of knowledge and information. So hopefully someone here will know what to do.

So I have just been given a complete N14644. The previous owner tried to use custom maps, I think he said. Anyway the device is 100% empty. Signing into to his account or mine from way back when I had a Go730. The illusion of installation continues for a while but then dies with some crap about corruption. Chkdsk says there is nothing wrong with the device. Anyway no I have a paperweight with a TFT on it. Can this device be fixed? I am familiar and happy with most PC shinnaigans having been part of the XBOX-SCENE back in the day.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

The best way to restore the device is to let TomTom Home software do it for you...after that you can come back and we can look into what map you need.

TomTom provide instructions on how to do that [Please Register or Login to download file]

Click on the 'I don't have a map to download' link and follow the steps but stop at step 4 as you'll be able to download a new map from here.

*) Recommended Navcore navcore 9.540 64MB device

--
1) Make a backup of your Device and delete the content.
--
2) Unpack the* navcore (winrar ) and place folders and files on your Device Internal/SD Card.
--
3) Reset The Device (minimal 20 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
4) which map is compatible with any NavCore.
--
maps-v9xx-f179/all-new-maps-970-t18710.html
--
Horizontal map version
Vertical navcore
From navcore vertical down and horizontal maps
If the box is green you can use the map with this navcore (if it is red not)
--
5) Be sure that you have the right map.
Is there a meta from the map you want to use.
No meta then you can not use the map.
--
Copie the chosen map to root of your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
--
6) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your TomTom device root.
noref.php?url=http://linkcrypt.ws/dir/m24dq269u7183k4

Run "FastActivate.exe".
     Select 2 and Done

I am quite chuffed with myself. A simple task to you guys I am sure but I have managed to recover the TomTom with a combination of help. Now the details of the device are as follows.
App 9.510.1234792.2, OS 842337 (2039, 4/4/2013) GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5136

GPS Type GL2 BCM4750 FFFF

Not sure how much of this data is relevant to my question. Which is, can this device be updated any further please.

Thank you for the help.

Well done

No, NC 9.510 is the latest and best navcore for your device so no more updating is necessary.

You didn't say if you've got a map sorted or not?

No ignore that. The map was located using a chart I found. Red and green segments. It was the only map I could actually get to download.
