Remove everything but the map folder. Copy your back-up into your unit. Download & install the 9.205 .cab, overwriting any common files. Copy in the pre-patched ttsystem & PNDNavigator files, overwriting any common files. Reboot.

sorry to hijack this thread..i have similar issue with my tomtom go 720....no sound present..tried everytghing, but might be hardware issue...however will work if i connect an external mono speaker to the line out socket...is there a way to solder the internal speaker onto line out socket.so you can still use the internal speaker..or cant you do it ....

yes sounds like your fault is hardware related i am not shure about doing what you say, maybe some 1 else like downunder could answer this, but i do know you can get replacment speakers cheaply on ebay ;) [Please Register or Login to download file]

You are not hijacking the thread. Your post is legit. Confirm the you have "internal speaker" set in Speaker preferences.

Do you have voices/sound with your backup loaded?

yes that what i thought it might be but speaker preference is set to "internal speaker"...but it doesnt work..also i have took out a working speaker from my tomtom go 530..and put it in the tomtom go 720 but still doesnt work...my other option is either to splice a connection into the line out jack..somehow...or connect a external small mp3/sony walkman type speaker that has a 3.5mm jack plug...what do you guys suggest...will i be able to adjust the volume ?..cheers

yes i have voices/sound loaded and i know that they all work because i took them from my other tomtom unit.....like i said before i can hear the voices if i connect my headphones to the line out jack plug on the tomtom unit and switch the settings in "sound preferences" to "line out"......
