8.412 Navcore on One v4 with Bootloader 1.0

No menu, I used to see also the bootscreen after the logo, but now I don't.
The logo screenshot 4324 swaps itself with a black screen and a very quick yellow bar rolling on an orange wallpaper 4325

Downunder35m wrote:I guess during those reboots no ttgo.bif is being created?

True, no ttgo.bif around.
Line 4 of the DOS like status window says: Bootloader version A1.0103 clist#323018 GCC3.
4326

Hope that helps.

Ok, I would say that's a good sign as it confirms you are still using the original bootloader and the device is trying to boot.
Hoping that there is no problem with the internal memory it seems your ONE is not able to load all Navcore files.
Usually this indicates a wrongly installed or incomplete Navcore, since Home installed it I rule that out.
Clean all by holding the reset button for 30+sec. followed by the TT clear flash tool.
Connect to the PC and do a full checkdisk on the drive of your TT, if any errors are found do a quickformat and check again.
Delete all from the device and unpack this pre-patched 8.041 to the root of your device. [Please Register or Login to download file]
Now you device must boot to the stage where it complains about a missing map.
If so proceed with the map installation as usual.
If your device still hangs/reboots you might have a fault on the internal memory.
One last option to check if the device itself is still good would be to add a SD card and check if it boots fine from there.

I'm not sure about it. The bootloader I tried to install is called 0.0001, I found it on another forum and I know is used for downgrading when a previous installation reveals to be non compatible. I'm afraid that the device doesn't show it in the DOS-like text because it isn't a proper bootloader, but the changing attempt could have made some modification, anyway. :dash3:
It could be necessary to trying a bootloader restore, somehow... (if possible).
I know, I should have collected all the instructions before making any attempt... Hopefully I have learnt the lesson now.

Unfortunately, the device keeps on hanging as usual.

When you think it's time to try the SD method, just list out what I need for it and I'll follow the path.

Navitotal doesn't support problems created by downloads from other forums!!!

Something is just not right, you can install a new NC, access the memory and all.
By default the 8.041 comes with BL 1.0100 and not 1.0103.
Was that really your original bootloader and NC combination?
Do you have a working backup that you can check?

Yes, I do. The only wise thing I made, was a back-up.
This is from the ttgo.bif when the device was still working (all-original setup):

Ahhh, here we go - you need a 8.042 NC.
Is your backup working when you put it on the device?
And can you please PM me the full content of your ttgo.bif so that I can download the 8.042 and try to patch it?
To my knowledge there is no patched version available.

PM sent.

I don't think so. The device doesn't boot, so I can't say if it works or not.

From your system screen you still have the original BL installed and your ONE tries to boot, so with the correct NC it should work just fine.
Delete all from your device,
copy your backup on it,
do a hard reset folled by 3x the TT Clear Flash tool.

Thanks to Yuriggg I can provide a patched 8.042 but if your ONE does not boot the original the patched won't boot either.
AFAIK your device has 1GB internal memory, have you tried to copy a file of about that size to your empty device?
Just to confirm if the internal memory works fine or not.

I've copied videos and mp3s to the empty device and filled the memory, leaving just few KB free. I've opened some of those files and they worked just fine; it should mean that the internal memory is still in good condition, I guess.

Done. Still frozen. The only difference now is the night view cockpit back in the routine.

True. I've copied the patched 8.042, done a hard reset followed by 3x the TT Clear Flash tool and tried to boot with no luck. TT Home wanted to do an upgrade: the usual TomTom_application_for_ONEv4 with the navcore_8.041.9645.one2008_C.cab in it. Updated, but nothing has changed. :unknw_mini:

At this stage I suggest to contact the TT support.
Send them a copy of your ttgo.bif and tell them your TT hangs on the bootlogo.
Tell them also that you followed the tutorials on their website to no avail.
Finally tell them you use Home check for an update and after installing the older 8.041 your device still does not work.

They might change the server settings for your Home so you can download the 8.042 or give you a direct link, if worse comes to worse you have a paperweight.
It simply makes no sense that the patched 8.042 won't work.
