tendriver wrote:1. Your bootloader version is??
2. Confirm that the 4 & 8 are not write protected [locked]!!
tendriver wrote:l'd try a different navcore. If no help, I'd try the bootloader, that goes with your current navcore.
lukesw74 wrote:1. One thing I dont get is why in the TomTom there is always the bootloader 5.5128? in the navcore 9.702 there is the bootloader 5.5279 (right?) but when I put the navcore then the map and activate the map, put the SD inside TomTom the navcore is 5.5128 ???
2. Tried to put only the navcore put the SD inside and the bootloader (hold and press on button) still 5.5128, should not be 5.5279?
tendriver wrote:1. The full name of the bootloader file is "system". A lot of the modified NCs have had the bootloader removed. You might look to see if that is the case with your installed navcore version.
2. (hold and press on button) hold & press on what button & why do this?
If you are not having problems booting with 5.5128, then it ain't broke, so don't try to fix it.
lukesw74 wrote:1. In the NC 9.702 there is Bootloader Target=s3c24xx Bootloaderversion=5.52792. the button on the GO at startup if kept pressed I can read the setting and so the bootloader version
2. The 5.5128 is working fine but cannot read the 8Gb SD, it works only with the 32Gb
tendriver wrote:1. Where did you get this little tidbit of info? Bootloader Target=s3c24xx
2. If all else fails, why not just use the 32GB SDHC card, since they are so cheap now.
Kingston or PNY Class 4 8GB = $4
Kingston or PNY Class 4 16GB = $6
Kingston or PNY Class 4 32GB = $11
lukesw74 wrote:1. after the installation of the navcore there is a file called "bootloaderversion.txt" and in it there is the text of the previous message
2. yes but I would like to understand why the 32 works and the others not... and as it is a waste of space
tendriver wrote:1. That is a static file. It never changes regardless of how many times you change the bootloader.
2. Wouldn't we all??
lukesw74 wrote:1. yes I know is a static file but I guess it tells which bootloader comes with the navcore
2. as it is installed after the installation of the navcore, no?
tendriver wrote:2. NO, both the bootloader file & the bootloaderversion.txt file are included in the navcore download packet.
