My go520 switches on and connects to computer automaticly most times but sometimes it asks me.The yes/no goes dark blue but does not respond,I think the touch screen has gone faulty. anyone in uk do repairs (pref near Oldham)
So i bought a 530 as replacement, whats the difference between to two (if any) ,i can't see any really so can i use same uk map as 520 or do i need a different map and navcore. cant see much difference on comparison chart either so is it technical stuff.
at the moment
navcore is 8.351
map v870.3406
boot 5.5120
thanks

Always said I'm slow on this computer stuff, but give me a 60s pinball machine and i will give you 1,000,000 points

There is no real difference between the two in terms of the hardware.
You don't need someone to repair the touchscreen, you can do it yourself.
Dismantling instructions are available in the tutorial section and the actual touch screen unit can be ordered for a few bucks on Ebay.
It is a simple matter of opening, taking the two display parts apart and to raplace the thin touch layer with the cable on it.
With the right tool it can be done in under 20 minutes.

Everything, that you have on the 520, will work on the 530.

The digitizer part is glued to the screen with a foam tape.
The easiest and most damaging way offered on the net is using a sharp knif to carefully cut around the edges, but IMHO it is best to use a thin plastic strip for that.
On several displays I was able to just force the display off by going around the edges with a piece of plastic, lifting the edges until the tape let's go.
Either way you have to work mm by mm around the edge.
Takes a bit of time but should not be too hard as the tape is designed to either peel off or to seperate.
Just don't use force to lift the display off and you should be fine.
