hi guys, the unit is working with the sd card, but when i removed the sd card and put the unit in the charging cradle i got a message that i had to format drive 'N' before i could use it,which made me think that i could acess the units memory but when i try to format the unit i get a message on my pc which says windows can not formar this disc,so i still cant transfer the files from the sd card to the tomtom disc

Try to make command line chkdsk X: /F (where X is your internal memory)
then try format again....

When you right clicked on the "N" drive to format it, did you immediately get the can't format this disc message or did you get the format menu first?

i tried it on the other computer and i got no offer to format the tomtom and when i right click the drive i get the message 'no disc inserted',I think theres a conflict within the disc either soft or hard but its working fine with the memory card and thats a great outcome,if either of the two of ye,PiEtU or tendriver had the disc in hand im sure ye could sort it out with the formatting issue but the unit was goosed yesterday and its working fine today with a memory card and i think its a credit to both of ye,without the two of you it would be back in the brothers drawer gathering dust wheras its a working unit now,so once again thanks for all the time and expertise and patience, regards minterno
