Go 700 freezing ------ Grrrrrrr

Postby skinnyhead » Tue Aug 02, 2011 6:14 pm

Hi guys

I have a G0 700, put navcore 8.414 on it no problems at all
loaded western europe maps 870 3514 again no problems

everything was fine for a few days

now when i switch it on it freezes - starts to load the process bar travels across the bottom of the screen it then comes up with the start up picture then freezes, won't do nothing else just have to reset it....

tried the flash clear tool - still freezing
tried a hard reset - still freezing
deleted everything and started again - still freezing

even backed it up to the original TT s/w - still freezing

this is really beginning to drive me mad - can't seem to get the thing to load

anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi
it's the hard dive version so cant - did wonder if it had a bad sector so loaded a 1 Gig dummy file to overwrite any errors - still the same. Even done a surface test in windows - still nothing..

There just doesn't seem to be a logical explanation - hence it's driving me mad

Thanks for the input though am open to any and all suggestions

What is the version number of the installed BL?
Why don't you use a 870.3406 map, which would be full featured.
If you have not changed anything and no other problem can be found than you might have faulty hardware.

Hi thanks for the input.

What's the BL? number not come across that one??

As for hardware fault it certainly looks probable - I did check the hard drive via windows and it came back as error free, even tried dumping a 1gig file at the start of the drive before putting on navcore etc - just in case there's a faulty sector...still no joy.
So I'm wondering if somethings gone crack, fizzle, pop!

As for the map it was the only one available - when i tried to d/l .3406 it kept coming back as file not found...it's on the to-do/to-get list..

Thanks again

BootLoaderVersion=55138 from the navcore 8414

BootLoaderVersion=309 from the original file set

obviously a difference between the two - both worked - now neither do

Navcore 8.414 contains BL 5.5130
I don't know in how many places in the forum it says : "leave the bootloader", "never update your booloader" or "only update if really necessary".
You have two possible problems :
1. the device has a hardware fault
2. the device can not access the harddrive properly due to the bootloader
