Help and assistance required.

I have be given a Go 700 unit which, thanks this forum, I've previously downloaded, installed and activated maps for it's previous owner.

Unfortunately I'm having no luck in updating further.

The map currently installed is for UK & ROI v865.3246. TomTom HOME confirms this and indicates that the latest map update/replacement is for v900.4600.

I've backed up current map data, downloaded the latest map version and copied to TT having removed old map from device. I also downloaded FastActivate v1.8.9.0 dated 02-12 and ran it.

Now, first time I got the option to download meta data but it wouldn't do this, it would't connect. I've not had this option since and cannot activate. When TT disconnected it comes up and says there is no map.

Shrugging shoulders, I decided to download map installer version so install and activation would be automatic. However when command window opens I see the words "Access is Denied"

Can anyone offer a resolution ?

I believe I found my mistake? I may have downloaded the latest map but there was no meta data included with the original post which I conclud needs to be there before downloading. I assume my previous downloads never had this as an issue. If this can be confirmed I would appreciate it and if someone knows what the minus-1 (v895) map version for Go 700 is/was fo UK & ROI that information would also be appreciated.

1. The Download Instructions [size=85]in post 1 of [/size]All New Maps 900.XXXX & 901.XXXX will answer your question.

2. Maps are NAVCORE specific, not device specific. UK&ROI 900.4608 is compatible with all navcores.

Many Thanks. Query answered. Need to wait for meta to be posted. I now understand the table. I see 900.4609 and 4610 are also compatible with all navcores but the only one currently posted with meta data is 4608.

TT HOME indicated 4600 presumably because unit capable of ASR (?) I'll download 4608. Thanks again for your help.

Just a final note of thanks for enlightening me on the finer points. The Go 700 is now fully updated for UK & ROI. Useful spare for my Start 20. I've also successfully updated a ONE unit limited to 1GB with "Europe 1 GB North". This map replaces the pre-installed Western Europe map which has grown to big for the device. The HOME application didn't give this map as an option to download (and buy!). My friend is extremely grateful as this will be a standby for his newly purchased (Caravan) unit.

Don't waste your time using TT Home to check for the correct map to use. Since you are using a modified setup, you will have more options by checking the Compatibility Chart, which is always in post 1 of a map thread or post 2 of a map collections only thread, then checking the map links for the map size & availibility.
