Go 720 help needed

All POI's are located inside the map folder.
Simply check for a .BMP and .OV2 file with the name of the POI.
Either rename or delete.
You can try "manage POI's", but I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "preventing".
A POI is not created by accident if you mean that.

Well, I kinda do. In iGO, when I look for a POI [and find it], an icon is not produced only a navigation to that POI and so there is nothing to delete anywhere. If I want to use that POI destination again, I just relook up the POI. I'm trying to do the same thing with TomTom. No icon produced. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

You can add a favourite or create a new POI category, but if you need an icon you have to take what's available or create your own (on the PC).
If you used an address/POI you can reuse it with "Navigate to recent destination".

I guess that it doesn't work the same way as iGO. An icon is produced - I just don't want it to be produced.

Remove the current navcore & replace it with your backup navcore. reinstall 9.510 per instructions in post 4.

TD,
I know that. Doing it your way will create a "blank" POI sub-folder. It's just that don't want any poi icons produced when I go to navigate in the main menu and then search for a poi. If I want to go back to that poi in the future, I just want to type the name of the poi again. Is there an option in the menu to uncheck so that I can do this?

You will not get a "blank" POI sub-folder, if you copy the folder and paste it back in after you do the reinstall.

I guess I don't quite understand what you are asking. How are you going to mark your destination on the map without an icon? All pois have a generic icon. The icon for a gym is 2 runners and for a Fitness Center, it is a Trophy cup. Are you getting a "custom" icon for LA Fitness? There custom icons for several Brand Names, like Sonic, in the map Brand folder. LA Fitness isn't 1 of them.

Thanks guys. It's really not a big deal at all. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm making it out to be bigger than it really is. TomTom is different than iGO. I just have to get used to it.
