TT GO 730 help needed

Postby kaiser7 » Sat Aug 31, 2013 10:22 am

Hello all,

I was bought some days ago the mentioned GO 730 device
I don't know what kind of things installed by the previous owner of this device but when I switch on my GO 730 it say that this map is not usable on this device...
I would like to remove really everything previously installed things and start with a new installation of the best navcore and for this a newest full EU map. Is it possible? How to do it? What information shall I share with you to help me?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello meadyyyy

I got the result below with getmyconfig and posted TomTom Current Configuration also. They are I think the same.
So my request would be to remove everything from the device and start with a new installation and map for Europe.
How can I start?

Thanks so much

ok, mine looks virtually same as your config, leave navcore alone at moment as just your map thats not there/not useable

1st backup your device useing explorer (not tomtom home)
2nd delete map file and zip file from device
3rd download, unzip and copy 915. map and related 915zip (if needed) files to your device (or other map you want checking compatability chart and size of map file)
4th download, unzip and copy fastactivate inc intergrated meta to your device, run fast activate and select option 3, once done, select option 2 once done, eject device from computer
5th all should be working

Thanks so much for your help.
Some questions since I'm reallly a beginner.
Map file and zip file. Where are they located? What is their name?
Other question regarding backup. You mean copy all of the files that is visible on the device to my HDD as a backup?

Other thing: I dont know which files are really needed for the device and seems that there are a lot of unnecessary things on it. Is there a way to delete everything and start from zero with a new install of navcore and map? This is what I really want in order to avoid any problems with my device.

backup, yes, copy everything from device onto your hdd

zip folder will be called/seen as zip

map folder will be "Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB" or something along those lines

navecore does seem to have alot in it but they all serve a purpose, and as it appears to be working other than not being able to use/find map there isnt really any point in deleting it and starting again, the only time to do that is if all else fails and as a last resort.

have you read tutorials section in http://www.navitotal.com/forumdisplay.php?80-Tutorials

alot of inf there

Hi meadyyyy,

Downloaded Europe_915_5110 into my Hdd. Unzipped and copied int my SD card.
After that I ran the latest fastactivate (2013.08.31).

Result of it is:
..:: FastActivate 2013.08.31. ::..

Press any key to continue . . .

kaiser7, you'd be wise to remove your deviceID.

Your map is not patched so it will not be used by your TT.

Is your new map currently situated in a folder with the root of your TT?
So if you TT is f:, your map should be in f:\Europe_915_xxxx.
Not in f:\Europe_915_xxxx\Europe or whatever.

Yesssssssss, I've made a mistake. I put it to G:\Europe_915_5110\Europe_915_5110, so I moved into G:\Europe_915_5110 but still not working.
But what I didnot mentioned that I put into my sd card and not my device since there was no enough space on that....
I read that in this case I have to copy 2 files into my sd: ttgo.bif and ttsystem file.
So now I trying it...

Yahoo ! I'm glad I could be of help and suggested the origin of your failure.
To be complete: I thought too that ttsystem was needed on the sd but that seems not to be the case. Only ttgo.bif suffices.
Have safe trips !
