Go 730 - Want to hide 2D/3D button

Postby Roxxor » Sat Apr 23, 2011 3:00 pm

After upgrading my navcore and map, I now have a 2D/3D button that seems to be a permanent part of the status bar. I use only 3D, so I have no use for a hot button to switch it, however after searching through all the options, I cannot find a way to hide this button. Can it be hidden, or is it permanent? Thanks

I think you'll find that 3-panel comes with all v9 navcores. Why not revert to the official 8.351?

Is there any reason v9 is better(like more features), or it's just newer? Still not totally familiar with what the changes were....

Absolutely NOT! Newer does NOT mean better! Any newer/non-official navcore was not designed for your device but a different model with different features.
I always say stick with your official navcore unless you want to play/emulate a different model (which can cause problems etc).
Your 8.351 supports all maps so; if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Easiest way to do this is from your backup (if you have one) or delete all loose files apart from your ttgo.bif then let TTHome update it for you. Remember you will need to patch THAT navcore to read pirate maps if not previously done.

The center box has more functions than just showing 2D/3D, which it does only when there is not a route planned. For instance, it shows important turn info when navigating a route. Plan a route and run a demo of it.

Bad idea. Now that you know the purpose of the center box, there is no need at all to downgrade.

Agreed. I found that out after using a route or two while working, does make it a little better.
