You can find the 9xx maps in about a year, 885 is coming now, after that 890, 895, 900....

received an email from FileFactory saying they should have fixed the corrupt file, so hopefully this will work. Sorry if I was being an A** earlier but was a bit miffed after spending that time only to have a corrupt file... Will take a different approach in future where I will allow several days to obtain the files.

I know how frustrating non working downloads can be, so no harm done ;)

I download the North_America_2GB_880.3810 Maps and Installed them on my TomTom 720 device, but am getting You cannot use this map on this device: North_America_2GB-452

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Here is my config info:

You say you installed the map but did you run either of the 'AutoActivate_04.02.2012_v1.8.8.1' or the 'FastActivate_04.02.2012_v1.8.8.1' tools to activate the map?

Although, you do realise that the new maps (885.xxxx) came out on the 16th February, so basically you are now installing a older version.

Yes I ran fastactivate on the files. I would install 885 however last time I looked there was no north america 2gb version there yet.

I have no way to check on the unit but I ran the utility that reads the info off of it that produced the info. I had a version on it before (9.4 something I believe) and tomtom asked me to update right before I put the new maps on. Could it have given me a version that is bad or messed something up? Should I try an older navcore like 9.401 for my Go 720?

Thanks

9.410 is an Asian navcore. 9.401 is the current navcore for a 720.

Middle East 880.3823 19,6mb

Hello,

I'm trying to install this map on my TT GO930 but it won't work
i downloaded the auto-installer, ran it (to copy map and fastactivate), it seems to through then auto-closes itself but when i try to switch map on the device it says "this map doesn't work with that device" (i guess it's the message when activation was unsuccessful"

i don't know if the meta gets updated, i don't see a .dct whatsoever

I'm running TT home and have installed all the updates (and in the manage your GO section it sees the middle-east map but still unactivated)

can you help me ?

ok great :)

trying ti install middle-east map on my GO930

So i'm getting the 880 Middle East map on this post , as the 885 does not have meta.

I'm getting the auto-installer.

I'm running the auto-installer, putting the map onto the TT harddrive

it seems to go through the whole process (installing + running fastactivate automatically)

After i launch the TT on its own and i cannot switch to the middle east map , it says map not working on this device

thanks in advance for your help
if you need more info let me know

1. This is all OK so far.

2. After FastActive has completed the map patch function, it tells you what was or wasn't patched. Confirm you have a ttgo.bif file on the TT harddrive.
Put FastActtivate & a copy of the unit's ttgo.bif file in the map folder & run FA from there.
Confirm that your navcore has been patched.

Hi

It works.
I guess it was the ttgo.bif in the map dir that helped.
It created a .dct and the map is activated :D

Note that i don't know my navcore version but i assume it is patched :D

I'll be lurking for the meta of version 885, I'm not sure how detailed the map is in 880. I hope it will help me get around in Dubai. The map covers about 6 countries in 20mb...

Sat Mar 03, 2012 1:16 am

Have actually checked a road map for that area?
This is not Texas ;)
Apart from a few connection roads you have only a few cities apart from Dubai that are worth to mention.
So no need for huge amounts of data.
Due to the building boom and speed down there even a map from today can be outdated next week ;)
