If the installer was used FastActivate will start from the root of the device/sd in use.

Hey thanks for the reply, I've tried running it from the root (e:\ on my pc), perhaps there's a command line switch for verbose/logging in FA so I can get a better idea of why it stops. I've turned off AV, rebooted etc etc. It appears to not want to create a meta.dct file (this is speculation as I'm just coming up to speed on this stuff). When I watch FA premium run it appears to 'flick' on the screen and I see something named dyg..... appear then disappear from the root three or four times. Any ideas Nav wizards?

Just for grins, put FastActivate & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in the map folder and run it from there.

Yep tried that and sadly the FA still hangs but this time without the "patching navcore" message, that part had appeared then went away. Grrrr I know I'm close but this is plain annoying, I'm contemplating pulling out the old XP machine to see if it's a Win7 issue. Are there any other map patching solutions you guys would suggest?
As always thanks for your time.

Right click on FastActivate & run it as Administrator.

Yep tried admin from right click, even tried from admin CMD session but no worries as I managed to patch the map and ttsystem using EasyActivator5_v0.57.21, now running 880.3868 and happy, cheers for the ideas.

And please state what map you downloaded and if the error comes from Winrar or the installer itself.
Corrupt files usually indicate a faulty download.
