Curious...curious...
Over the last 3 years, after some initial invaluable assistance from this site, I've successfuly downloaded and installed various suitable/compatible maps (on SD cards) upgrading them as new maps appear. However I'm now experiencing a problem with Canada-Alaska 880.3810. According to the chart at the start of this thread, that map should run with NC8545 on my ONE XL. But I see in TTHome "this item cannot be used on this device because it needs to be activated first". And in the ONE XL "Problem with this map. You cannot use this map in this device: Canada-Alaska-452".
I see exactly the same messages when running with NC9058 in the same ONE XL.
Some points...
I originally used the thread "How to update a 32mb Widescreen TomTom Device" when setting up my ONE XL.
The Western and Central Europe 880.3810 (same vintage as this problem map) runs perfectly with NC8545.
I've now tried activating the map using various 'activators' including the supplied TAASE.exe, and AutoActivate and FastActivate, to no avail.
The map parts downloaded and extracted with no difficulties - no CRC errors with WinRAR, for example.
Any clues as to what's going on? and how to fix it?
Alternatively is there another up-to-date map of Canada (Atlantic provinces especially), that will work?
