With the SE Navcore there is a folder "text" that has a file called "config.txt" it is written upon boot so you can confirm what emulation mode the device is seeing. Example
" Current Emulation: x40 BT: 17" is my file contents.

From the questions and comments above:

I have confirmed that all four connect2 files exist.

As O2xdaaus reflected the SE creates a "text" folder to confirm configuration, my config.txt depicts "Current Emulation: x40 BT: 1:".

About removing the model.txt file from root, eskro suggested it to default to x40 emu....and it appears he's right based on the text folder config.txt file.

Last night while testing, the 920 emu x40, the auto day night was working...late in the day the day screen mode...a few hours later in the evening night screen mode...all automatically.

The thing is, my voice command is there, but still no linking to the phone via BT.

The BT acts funny; the BT for the phone pairing screen comes up and almost imediately go to no phone located. So I still have a problem with the BT e.g. it acts like it going to work but functioning isn't there.

Create a config folder with the file Setconfig.txt inside and make shure you have bton inside, your device should not need to use switchfiles but it is worth a try to see if this helps you read this thread here for info on switchfiles.
