GO 930T storage

Postby multipazz » Wed Jan 05, 2011 4:40 pm

Hi

I just got a GO930T

i have a question about the internal and SD card

on the one xl the device will only use the internal or the external storage with external taking priority if installed

on this device i can see both storage drives when a card is installed..

so my question is can i install a different navcore on the sdcard and leave the original navcore on the internal

or does the navcore must be only on the internal storage and the expansion is just for maps...

i would really like to leave the original system and use the sd card to upgrade the system

the device has v800 maps and go work navcore 8.398

also when i updated the navcore to the latest in home.. it offered me speedcams
stupidly i didn't select them and they don't show up again

can i downgrade the original system and upgrade again in home to take get cams?

TIA
Multi.

1. The external has priority, only if a navcore is on the card.
2. Yes.
3. Then do it.
4. What map & what speedcams?
5. Depends on your answer to 4.

1 thing to keep in mind, the card navcore will make some changes to the internal navcore settings, unless both navcores have the exact same settings.

home offered me a huge list of European speed cameras but i didn't select them
current map is western and central europe v800.1762

but as you have confirmed I can upgrade via the sd card...

i will just use the cam database from here and leave the original work navcore as is

should i just copy the original go work 8.398 navcore and use the fast activate tools to patch it
for use with 860.3101 maps

as i guess it will be better to keep the cores at the same version or is there a better recomended navcore for this device ?

thanks

1. Hope you don't think TT was offering them to you for free!!

2. Unless you plan to use a Truck map, I would load a 9.XXX navcore. I'm using 9.205 on a X20 unit.

If I may offer a suggestion or 2. You must have a reason for keeping the internal as it is. However, the map is so out of date, it is worthless. I would cut & paste the old internal NC & map into a folder on my puter, then load the internal with the new stuff including speed cams. You can restore the unit back with 8.398/8oo at anytime.

Yes, your unit does not need outsourced or switchfiles.zip. 9.205 is defaulted to x40 & auto day/night does not work. It does work in x50, but you lose Jukebox.

I use the same color (America) for day and night with night brightness set at 10%
