I really appreciate your help tendriver :)

When I do as you suggested (plug SD card in tomtom, open TThome, click operate my device) it immediately shows the tomtom screen and says no maps found :(
However if I disconnect the tomtom from the pc and go to switch maps on the device itself, it shows the 3 maps I have installed (Eastern Europe 860, Europe West 870, South Africa Swaziland and Lesotho 870)

Does this help? it's like TThome doesn't register maps are on the device but on the device itself, everything is ok

TT Home "operate my device" has not been patched for your current navcore.

According to FastActivate 1.8.7.0 it says it's already been patched, so has the navcore

I'm using TThome v2.8.2.2264

Confirm that you are running 9.205 without a ttgo.bak file.
If so, go here:

With XPC:\Documents and Settings\ User Name\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions
With Vista or Windows 7
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensions

Look for a "][email protected] folder in the extensions folder. No folder = no patched TT Home "Operate my device".

The device does have a ttgo.bak file and is 2.75KB in size

The only folder I have in the above extensions folder is named [email protected] (which I take is the original NC)

Is my ttgo.bak file borked? When I started this thread I copied the original to the device as you advised and haven't touched it since I have updated to 870 maps

What do you suggest?

I am running NC 9.205

Copy the first 12 lines of the ttgo.bak, ttgo.bif & ttgo.ori files. Delete the serial # & Unique ID in each of the 12 line copies, then PM them to me.

Many Thanks tendriver, I very much appreciate your assistance with the mapshare issue - it is now resolved

I can't believe it was a simple issue of not having the folders correct on the device ie I had the map folders like
F:\Europe_West_870_3406\Europe_West_870_3406

Instead of just
F:\Europe_West_870_3406
