Any help greatly appreciated!

Fri Feb 24, 2012 5:03 pm

I'm new here as I'm sure most of these HELP request users are!

I've updated my TT One New edition a few times now over the last 2 or 3 years and have had no problems (running
a non standard Navcore with ALG and IQ routes all working fine).
So I thought I'd have a go at my fathers TT One 3rd edition (512MB).

I've updated the Navcore with Home to the latest official version and started to update the map. I'd been using Fast activate
with latest meta updated but just keep getting the error message map not compatable etc......
I tried this with a few maps (definately compatable and with meta) but I just keep getting the same error message.

I've now tried the map with the installer which ran and worked fine but the device is now stuck at the TT screen.
Strangely tho - it works perfectly through TT Home with the map showing and directions etc..

App 8.010
OS 1000
GPS v1.21
Boot 1.0012
Map 880.3866

I've tried searching for similar problems on other threads but no joy
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, think I replied to you rather than thread.....

Yes this is the set up shown In TT home when i 'operate my device'.
Before i started updating it was running map 710.1571 if that helps.

Thanks for the quick response.

1. Don't get too dependent on "Operate my device". It is just an emulation/simulation & isn't good to use for problem solving.
2. Have you confirmed that the map is patched by seeing a .meta.dct file in the map folder?
3. Are you certain that the 8010 navcore is patched?

Map is certainly patched
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-480.meta.dct file is showing in map folder.
I used the map with the built in installer for the set up I've pasted in the thread.
I had used fast activate (with up to date meta) previously on a map without the installer and was getting the same result.
How can I check that navcore is patched? Although I was sure it would be with both above methods.
I have done this 10 to 15 times before on my device with no probs at all!

I've just tried both again and virgin firewall is deleting a file from temp folder when I run fast activate and the auto installer in the map! Possibly keygen.exe. !!!!!
This should explain whats happening - I'll try and add the file to exception list to see if it runs - maybe it's not been patching the navcore???

Checked the exception list / virus found and the TAASE.exe file is there too from autoinstaller.
May have solved this!:scratch_one-s_head_

If not solved, attached is a prepatched 8010 ttsystem file.

Check "map chart 885." that you use an compatible map for your device if not done.

Re-read post 1.

A big thanks to tendriver for helping with this.
Just got around to sorting things and I'm sure the new virgin media security was deleting a file from fast activate when opened.
Strange that fast activate appeared to work perfectly but wasn't actually doing the patching - no indication that it had failed.
When security was disabled everythings patched fine and we're up and running!

For info it was deleting the keygen.exe and taase.exe as it flagged them up as potential trojans????
