Anyone overcome TT Home support for older models

Has anyone overcome this issue where TomTom Home no longer supports older versions of TomTom models with SD cards.

What you mean it is still possible to have the newest maps on your device. So lang members contribute there metacodes to this forum you can use maps. The downside is that in every 3 months there are lesser metacodes and over a year only a view. Finally zero and then it is time to BUY a new TomTom.

I have used maps and meta codes from here for a while..(thank you),
without understanding how the meta codes relate to the maps.
That is, how and where are the codes generated ,how does FastActivate use them.

Can anyone explain this ?

Perhaps there is a way to generate the codes ourselves.

The only way to generate the code yourself is to BUY a new map. Generate the code with FastAktivate (number 5) and give the code to the community.
Read the Help file whit FastAktivate.

What I meant,

I could use TT Home and could receive updates for the map I have if any were available.

I think you still got the updates for the map (mapshare).

The worst scenario is that you don,t receive map share anymore but you can still load new maps every 3 months if meta code is available. So even without map share you are up to date with maps.

My thinking is..
The maps need a key to unlock them.
Does anyone know what algorithm is used to generate the key ?
How does the TomTom software , (Navcore ?) check it.

I've got a One XL running with a more recent Navcore and new maps (this model is no longer supported because it only has 32MB RAM and 1GB flash with no SD).

The hardest thing was finding a map that would fit. I use a North American map that only has Northern USA and Canada--it fits and Im happy.

I erased everything on the device and started over and only included the bare minimum that was needed.

The caveat is that the software I used occasionally lags out--its slower than the older version that was on there from the factory. I like the new features and I can accept the slowness (which , oddly enough, comes and goes--sometimes its fast).

Good luck!
