Hi my name is Stuart and I am looking for help
to update the Tomtom maps on a Navigo SY885 please

I have been looking & trying various things on this site but I am getting no were.
The existing tomtom software is on a SD card but is well out of date & I wish to update to a newer England & Ireland map.

When checking; the existing navcode comes up as 6.000 and the map is Tomtom- map- 6.75 –UK and –Ireland-plus-major-roads-of-WE 1409 V676.1409.

There are 4 folders on the SD card:
Guam
Mobile navigator
Tomtom-map-6.75-UK-IE-plus –major roads-of WE 1409
Voices

The system information on the Navigo SY885 is
Software version V2.0.0.12.15
Ram size 64 Meg
Set for MS Activesync

Tomtom information screen shows
PocketPC device
Apps version 6.000(7370)
Free ram 25.9 MB
GPS driver v1.20
Tomtom-map-6.75-UK-IE-plus –major roads-of WE 1409
Language English UK

I hope I have posted this correctly as it is my first attemp

First thing is to find out if this runs WinCE4.2 or WinCE 5 because this device was available with both.

Tomtom Navigator 7 does not work properly on WinCE 4.2, Other programmes like iGO do though.

BTW, i edited the device ID to keep your device secure.

I am running win ce 5.0 & with information obtained from the great site you recommented I have succeded. Below it whoI did in case it helps someone else

Put navigator 7.910 files in root of SD card(obtained from nacigo v1 sy885 thread on this site
Put map United_Kingdom_and-Republic_of_Ireland_870-3419 in root of SD card
Patch the map
Put voices in root of SD obtained from my TomTOM device
Put postcode file called zip in route of SD card
Make a file in notepad called shell.ini and write in it \sdmmc\TomtomNavigator.exe. Put this file in root of SD card (Did this as my machine already hacked for YFS Shell
In to Tomtom preferences you will have to configure the GPS receiver
Select other NMGA GPS receiver
4800 baud rate
Com1

Just now have to decide which is the best map for this device before adding the speed camers
