how you install navcore are you extract both package to device ?

try this way http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2831-TomTom-Automatic-Navcore-Installation

look TTGO.BIF file exist before you run activator
look map folder *.meta.dct file exist also after run activator

Don't panic.

Are you using the internal memory or a SD card?

Let's start over. Remove everything from the ixternal except the 860.3101 map folder. Copy in your backup, except the old map folder. Go here: TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation READ the instructions carefully!!! Select SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar (Widescreen ONLY) . Run the included AutoActivate to patch the map. Confirm you have a meta.dct file in the map folder & reboot.

AutoActivate & FastActivate are the same, except AutoActivate doesn't patch the navcore. As I stated above, & as is stated in the AutoActivate instructions, it is included in the SE Navcore download. It appears you are not reading carefully enuf.

Hi

I managed to delete all 3100 maps and only left 3101 on there

Navcore installed it ok - but the TT keeps on freezing on the TT front page and and after waiting 5 mins it keeps rebooting itself back to the frontpage - what should I do???

Hi

I have followed the instructions to the book as below:

* Download the required navcore
* Run the .exe from your PC
* Choose the Drive letter of your TomTom
* Click Install and wait
* Activate map if required with the already included AutoActivate.exe
> Boot tomtom before activate maps (If a clean install has been peformed) - i did this too
* Done

but it is still frozen at the TT homepage and then even blacks out and then it reboots in a loop :(

What could go wrong??

Maybe I need to delete the old Navcore 8.0xxx as well??

I didn't delete that one... >_< do i have to ?

Hi!!

I have great news - i finally managed to install 3101 without any problems today!! no more freezing!! ^_^ How did i do that? well... I went back to your post and

1. deleted EVERYTHING (well i backup all the old files to my pc first) except for the 3101 map
2. reinstalled Navcore 9 using the exe.
3. rebooted machine
4. ran the AutoActivate.exe
5. rebooted machine a few times (the first startup was very slow and that frightened me a bit... so i rebooted it again...)
6. finally it worked!!! ^_^

I am so happy and everyone here is AWESOME especially Tendriver !!

I wasted so much time (2 days) on other forums and downloaded over 1g of rubbish (navcore from other sites which didn't work) and finally i found this great site with all the right info and excellent layout (very organised site!!)

just wanna say again i am very grateful for all your help and thanks so much for helping me!!! ^_^ :angel_mini:

Hi Pietu

Yes your PS on looking out for "TTGO.BIF file exist before you run activator" was VERY HELPFUL - that happened to me when i tried to run AutoActivate.exe coz mine was missing, so I had to copy it across to the TomTom from my old backup files stored on my PC... THanks so much!! :angel_mini:
