It looks that for very odd reasons I got the wrong files from the server. It must have been some other map...
Now I have seeen that the are 5 five files with a total compressed size of about 800 MB.
I will udpate you later.

Western_Europe_1GB_960_7075 (1.3GB)
Europe_1GB_West_960_7075 (876MB)

thanks, indeed I took the first map, too large for my TT.
I will try now the second one.
Tue Jan 19, 2016 6:52 am
installation completed without any evident error.
however, after the TT restart I always get the following message:
you cannot use the map Europe_1GB_West_960_7075 on this device.
I can choose the map on the screen but it cannot be installed.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
The navcore versione is 8.0.10.
DeviceName=TomTom XL

BootLoaderVersion=55011

reading the tutorial I cansay that in the map folder created on the TT disk there is not the .DCT file.
could this be the reason why the map cannot be used?
the files present (876 MB total size) are:
brand (folder)
cline.dat
cname.dae
cnode.dat
faces.dat
mapinfo.dat
poi.dat
tables.dat
tmccodes.dat
traffic.dat
Europe_1GB_West-100579.meta
Europe_1GB_West.pna
please help! Thanks!

Is the map Europe 1GB West 960.7075 compatible with Navcore 8.010?
I have encountered problems during the installation, but do not know the reasons, if they are due to map incompatibiity or to other issues.
I have seen around diffent compatibility tables and and at this point I am not sure.
Thanks

Any 960.7075 map is compatible with all navcores from 7.8xx onwards...including 8.010
Have a look at the compatibility chart

Put FastActivate.exe & a copy of your ttgo.bif file in the 7075 folder & run option 2.
BTW, double posting is a BIG NONO!!!!!

Thanks, I will follow your instructions.
I posted on the map error discussion to make sure for myself (and all the readers) that the map Europe_1GB_West_970.7075 is compatible with navcore 8.010, since I thought it was not obvious from the table.
In any case, I do apologizes for this.

Europe_1GB_West_970.7075 would not have been included in post 19, if it wasn't compatible with your navcore 8.010!!!
FFR, you might want to read the info in the yellow box at the bottom of every Compat Chart. It should give you a better understanding of what is or isn't compatible with what.
