Best Navcore for this unit?

Best Navcore for this unit?

Postby VeeDub » Wed Nov 24, 2010 10:47 am

Hello,

Having successfully updated the maps in my TomTom recently, I have offered to help a friend.

Apparently his unit has not been updated for sometime.

I don't want to try and load the wrong Navcore, so would appreciate some advice on the appropriate version to use.

Here are the details of his unit

DeviceName=TomTom ONE XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL
BootLoaderVersion=53012
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7130
ApplicationVersion=8476

Unfortunately the map details are not reported in the ttgo.bif file.

I have made a backup of the unit.

Thanks

VW

I'ved used the automatic install of 9051 Navcore - se other topic
http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2831-TomTom-Automatic-Navcore-Installation

My Divece:

DeviceName=TomTom One XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL
BootLoaderVersion=55128
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9051
ApplicationVersion=503855.2

As you can see i also updated the bootloader software to 55128

Previus i tried the 9205 navcore and 55136 bootloader, but i think the present configuration works better

Give it a try, but remember to take a backup of your device from windows

I'm using one of the new 860 maps (on the internal memory) and its working just fine. Using fastactivate 1.17

If you use this configuration - and you can't use mapshare or getting some other failuremessages in TT home - you might have to make a change in your ttgo.bif file:

change
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9051
ApplicationVersion=503855.2

to

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369

SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar (Widescreen ONLY) from the auto install sticky thread. Read the instructions carefully.
The map details are reported in the ttgo.bif. Look for Currentmap & Currentmapversion half way down the .bif list.

Correct bootloader for 9.250 is 5.5250.FFR, AutoActivate is included in AutoInstall. There is no need to download FastActivate.You can not change the ttgo.bif file by directly entering new values. A new .bif is created with each boot.You can change the values this way.To fix version error.Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010ApplicationVersion=9369"Save as" ttgo.bakDisconnect & reboot.

Bootloaders are included in every navcore, unless the nc has been modified & the b/l removed before posting it.[Please Register or Login to download file]

Just to be sure...

If ,I or the topic starter, wants to upgrade a TomTom One XL device to
Bootloader 55250
NavCore 9205
Map 860.310x

I'll have to format my device (or SD card) - and copy the contents of the attached file in your post. Copy a map, run fast activate?
Then the device will work flawless and be able to recive mapshare data ect.?

There is no need to format either. If you are referring to post 3, read the instructions in post 1 of the autoinstall thread.

@tendriver

I understand from the tutorial that those entries ought to be in the ttgo.bif file, but on this unit those entries are not present (?)

There are 33 lines in the file, and two of the lines are blank (31 and 33).

Given that the info is missing, is that significant, and does it alter the upgrade plan?

Thanks

VW

The lack of map details in the .bif will not affect updating the unit. Is there a map on the unit?

Yes, although I don't know the version.

I am planning on adding 860.3101
