Binatone Z430 TomTom 6 & 7 Issue

Postby soggydan » Wed Aug 17, 2011 2:14 pm

Hi all

Long-time reader, first time poster here :)

I have a Binatone X430 that i use TT 7.910.9185 on with the v870.3417 UK and ROI maps and this works like a charm. I have the updated voices, postcodes and speed cams all working a treat. I will get round to trying the EU maps but that’s another story.

I purchased a Binatone Z430 from eBay due to it having a faster processor and more channels. It runs WinCE 5.0 (same as X430) and so I was thinking it should be the same/similar setup to my X430

The issue I get is no matter what I do when I try to run the MobileNavigator.exe it errors with:

Cannot find “NavigatorMobile” (or one of its components)

It doesn’t get as far as the TomTom splash screen, its as soon as I click the EXE

I know the SD card is good as I have used it in my X430 and I even copied the Native crappy Binaton software to the SD card and ran it from there. I also copied the MobileNavigator.exe to the on-board storage and still the same

Any ideas are welcome at this point as I am out of them

"Cannot find MobileNavigator (or one of it's components)" means that a library (.dll) Tomtom expects to find in \Windows has been removed.

Use the version of Tomtom Navigator from this thread as it has all the libraries included in it's own directory.

I just loaded up v7.450 as advised from the link above and it worked a treat.

I then copied OVER v7.450 with the contents of the folder from 7.910.9185 build. Hopefully this would end in me running 7.9 with the 7.450 DLLs

And it did and It works!

I have my Z430 running TT v7.910.9185 with Western EU 1GB 870.3417 maps.

Still need to test:
Does the faster processor in the Z430 makes much of a difference
GPS Antenna
FM Traffic TMC Antenna

If anyone has any tips on getting GPS or TMC antenna working that would be good. Are they Plug and Play or do I need to do any config?

Many thanks to FatFanBoy and to all that have posted here that help me get this working

TMC is not supported on Tomtom Navigator

A faster processor always helps

Not sure what you mean by GPS antenna

Who is Fatfanboy? :D

The Z430 has a TMC socket, is it the actual TomTom software that is missing the TMC component?

It also has a GPS socket so i can attach a [Please Register or Login to download file] and have it on the roof of my car

Sorry Fatboy, my eyes are failing, or could be my typing, not sure

Tomtom Navigator does not support TMC, Any TMC hardware will be ignored.

The external antenna will (when plugged in) disconnect the internal antenna, Tomtom won't see the difference.
