Bit of help with TT GO 910 please

I earlier got into a mess, completely wiped the TT 910, reinstalled the navcore from Tom Tom HOME, updated it from within TT HOME. Then patched it, and installed a map, and patched that. Created a meta.txt. Reset it. It all worked brilliantly. So I thought I finally understood this stuff. BUT...

Getting more adventurous, would like a truck navcore on it if possible. As far as I can gather from other threads 8.398 is known to work. (TT ONE only updated to 7.903 so it seemed optimistic to go for the latest and greatest)

I seem to be missing something here. Took full backup. I then deleted all files on device except the map folder, the meta file and the ttgo.bif file. Then downloaded the 8.398.go_work cab file and extracted to root. Then patched that.

Now I would expect the device to boot and either work with the car map or complain "no maps found".
But it just hangs at the TOMTOM splash screen.

Can someone spot what I'm doing wrong. Or is it not possible to put a truck navcore on this device? Many thanks.

Bit more info. The navcore is deffo patches because FastActivate says it's patched already.

At this point did you disconnect, shut down & reboot to create a new current ttgo.bif file?

Yes, but the ttgo.bif seemingly didn't get changed. The problem seems very similar to this old thread here...

Unfortunately all of the links to the the suggested fix are now dead, but such is life!

Thank you. The latest and greatest installed fine, using the installer method. Just need to be patient and download a truck map now.
