I can't find a map 1130_12379

Thu Aug 15, 2024 8:31 am

Hi all,

I have a TomTom One V4 and the start of the product code is PE and its navcore is 8.041 (possibility it's 8.41 from my old note taking on how to do this). Anyway, the last time I updated maps was March last year. I have looked on the map checker and it appears 1130_12379 has a tick for my navcore. However, when I go to browse around the part of the site with maps I can't seem to find one, I was looking at the link below, am I in the right place? I am only looking for UK and ROI owing to space capacity. The posts on there are very old, my current map is United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_1105_11819

TIA.

Thanks however when I go to click on it I get a Polish message and when I get that translated it says there was an error processing request. Are you sure this is ok for my navcore as I read on the pages some indication suggesting it was for a different navcore?

Send me an email and I'll send you Navcore 9.170, upload it to your GPS instead of yours and I'll try to download the map and I'll also send it to you via the Czech server

Thanks but I am concerned about the consequences of this course of action in updating the navcore. Will my archaic device work slower? Will it cause issues with future updates? I just wondering if so many devices have a tick for the latest maps, why I get no results when I search the forum for the map number? I would have expected a lot of results? Or should I be searching for the filename of the rar itself?

I'd be cautious about updating your navcore because TomTom had problems with certain devices and had to produce a specific navcore that made these devices stable...that NC was 8.041

Also, the last NAV2 maps that we have meta codes for are the 1110 series. If you want a newer map than that you'll have to research a NAV3 map and corresponding meta code.

The crap Navcore is modified works even on older devices and with 11.30 maps just delete everything in memory load Navcore then maps and use keygen 4.1D and everything works

That went completely over my head. Can you refer me to a tutorial? I am getting the impression then that I can't use this website to update the maps only for my device given comment below from user frederf:

What's a cheap old satnav I can buy that I can upload recent maps to? TIA

Thank you for your contribution, however the map compatibility chart shows a cross for my navcore 8.041 the way I read it?

Thanks for your help. Do I simply copy and paste the entire contents of the SD card? What is the release date of 1130 12304?

Edit: I've downloaded those two files, it appears the core is another OS for it, can you please clarify what I need to do next if different tot he below, I realise you say your uploaded version is modified? I have previously updated maps by running the following instructions I made a note of:

Download map AND the meta file data for that map. Use the program TTActivator-v1.16 using the new meta.txt data file copied to the tomtom device root folder and copy and paste the meta.txt data into the folder containing TTactivator. Remove the older maps folder from the TomTom and copy the new maps folder in its place.Click on activate button in the program and then its set.
Download speed cams, only copy uk one into maps folder, run fastactivate and it will make a new file patching the maps.

So first backup, backup, backup!!! Everything can be backed up to SD.Then completely erase the SD card.Upload the unpacked Navcore 9.170 to the SD card. Then copy the unzipped map to SD.Then use keygen 4.1D [Please Register or Login to download file] Before you start working with keygen 4.1D, turn off all antiviruses Copy the keygen to the C drive and put meta.txt on the last line of meta and save. Then run TomTom exe as an administrator, click on maps and have Tomtom and Map .dtc connected and Done.Mainly do it before you start the backup. It can always be copied back!!!

OK so I deleted all the files on the device and copied over the navcore and the ireland maps, I copied the mete.txt holding the new meta data to the device and the activator program I already had which after searching what the keygen4 D did was supposedly the same program albeit perhaps a different version.

It said it had successfully implemented the new maps and I disconnected the device. I turned it on however nothing happened, I saw a picture of a computer with a blue line underneath it, I figured maybe it was trying to locate a sat signal. I took the device outside and turned off and on again, this time it makes the tomtom drums sound. I tried a few times but to no avail, I took it back to the computer and now windows says it's got filesystem errors but it could not locate any. I reformatted the drive as its original fat32 and copied over the new navcore without the maps, I get the same response as above, nothing happens. I had a look in the navcore pack file and it lists several files as .chk so I am wondering if the original device this came from did indeed have a failed files system? Or was this because I used my activator instead of the new keygen 4D?

BTW when you said " put meta.txt on the last line of meta and save." what did you mean? I thought you mean put in the line of code and its description into the last line of a meta file with a long list of countries but I could not find a meta.txt file, perhaps it was lost as a file corruption?
