Hello!

I have TomTom XXL. I can't get anything to work. It either says that no map found or just hangs in "TomTom" screen, depending what i try.
Could anyone confirm that i'm using the right files?
-Universal Navcore installer: "9.510 for the XL series"
-Europe_north_985.8155_installer
-latest FastActivate

-First i format the device, then install the Navcore, copy ttgo.bif from backup, then install maps, and then select 1, 2 and 3 from FastActivate. It results into bootloop.

-If i format the device, then open TomTomHome and update it, with maps, it just says no map found when i boot it.

And one strange thing. I can't get any .bif-files to appear, no matter what i do.

These are the info i backupped from it before i did all:

I'm clueless. Feels like i have tried everything.

Empty the XXL completely.
Install 1.NC9.510_DSA_Voice+UK on it.
[Please Register or Login to download file]
Disconnect the XXL from the computer.
Reset the XXL and after that start till you got the message no map found.

If you come to that we like to hear it. After that, we go further.

I've seen it before that no ttgo.bif was being created
I was unable to solve that.

I formatted it, and installed what you pointed, but all i get is the bootlogo. And yes, i reseted the Tomtom(hold power until bootsound comes) So no progress on that. And the .bif-files did'nt appear.

But now i got it working by installing old backup back, then installing a map from Tomtom Home. So seems it depends on something very small setting somewhere...

And wich navcore is the old backup ?

I can,t try it becourse I don,t have a XXL.

The old backup is 9.465 as the old .bif-file says: "ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9465"
To my understanding, the 9.510 should work?

Now after those instruction it says that the map cannot be used on this device. Atleast it found a map!
And after that, i used FastActivate to activate the map, and it started working! Even though the map installer had an patcher built in, it wasn't enough.

So.. What are those files? Atleast the navcore is from TomTom directly, but where did that patched PDPNavigator file came originally?

If you use the cabfile and unpack it to the XXL and after that you patched the navcore with FastAktivate then you have
The PDPNavigator file.This is another way but it is doing the same.
I am still surprised that the navcore from post 2 was not working becourse that was made with the same procedure.
But finaly you have it working so make an backup.

So I understand that when you put the backup back it worked. So that means if you patched it with FastAktivate changed the map and aktivated it also it should has been worked.

Okay. So FastActive patches only the PDPNavigator file while patching navcore?
And installing that navcore from TomTom site is the same as installing navcore from TTHome?

Yes
The ttsystem or PNDNavigator depending on what it find.

Okay. Seems that the navi files have both, ttsystem and PDPNavigator. Maybe the autopatching problem is because of that.
