Shouldn't the Brazil 4438 be activated automatically? What should I do with this meta code? I can't make it work in here.

The message “A map can’t be activated until the meta is posted here!” is an advisory only, that a map can't be pactched until it's meta code is available. You don't have to do anything with the meta code, it is included in most of the patching tools.
If you are still having trouble patching the Br 4438 map put FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 19.10.2012 & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in the map folder & run FA.

Ok. So here is what I did:

1) I downloaded the map here from the site.
2)Installed it on my XL Canada 310.
3) Put a copy of FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 19.10.2012 in the root
4) Ran it. Patched Tomtom Home; ttsystem/PDNnavigator; Maps/Voices/Speedcams (on this order).
Did not work! When I turn the GPS on and select the brazilian map I get the message
"impossible to use this map with this equipment: Brazil-609"

So I next I did what you told me:
5)Copy FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 19.10.2012 to folder "Brazil_895_4438" on the GPS
6) Copy "ttgo.bif"to folder "Brazil_895_4438" on the GPS
7) Ran FastActive on the folder "Brazil_895_4438" on the GPS, just like on step 4 above.

Did not work again! When I turn the GPS on and select the brazilian map I get the message
"impossible to use this map with this equipment: Brazil-609"

What am I doing wrong???

What navcore is on you XL?
Confirm that there is a meta.dct file in the 4438 folder after step 7).

My navcore version is 9.465.

And no, there is NO "meta.dct" file, nor any file named "Brazil-609.meta.dct". However, there is a file named "Brazil-609.meta"

FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 29.10.2012 is now the current version. Give it a go, the same way as your step 7). Only run the map patcher.

I can't find the link to download this. It just opens a thread but there's no link in there to download FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 29.10.2012
