Carminat Live Navcore 9.844 patching and map activation

Hello the EU map work fine with the original SD and was recognize by Carminat on the car and TThome without problem and the new France map too on the both carminat and TTH but when I made a backup on computer of this original SD with the 2 map on, and after I make a recover on this new SD, just the France new map work fine on this new SD but not the EU map on Carminat.
Is really not possible to make a copy of the car carminat memory , may be on that there is our solution to use Navitotal map as on PDA or other advice

I have update my map by tthome le 02/12/2011 (France 8.55-> France 8.80). Maybe, the two packages of directories (without directory of map) can interest you to see the differences?

Hello when you downlod a map buyed from official TT site you download a zip files with a file called activation.zip deflated is the file.meta.dct, another name_of_map.toc and other .gif and the main file of map called name_of_map.zip which deflated on SD card on installation in many usuals files from map that is to say map.meta, map.pna, cline cname cnode etc. .dat and a file tmctable.ttd
All these deflated file were on SD with meta and meta.dct, that mean that was now TTsite who give you the meta.dct with map?

It's probably one of these files who active the map in TT in the car in addition to .dtc . After, Tomtom should erase the file of sdcard !

After watching and reading this here for quite a while now I must wonder if you are all talking about the Carminat or in fact about the Carminat Live.
For the normal Carminat the provided tutorial still works fine.
The Carminat Live however can, at the moment, only be used with maps that you buy from TT or receive through the map guarantee.
Again only for the Carminat Live: Backups of your original SD only work with maps bought/downloaded from TT. The map that came with your car has a .mct file for the activation.
The .mct is bound to the CID of the SD card, where the .dct provided with the maps you receive from TT is bound to the deviceID.
As it is impossible to change the CID of a SD no map using a .mct file will work on a new SD card. But the original SD with that map will work in any Carminat Live.
Hope that clears a bit.

Hello I not sure of taht because now I have the original Map on the original SD bought with the Car in CARMINAT TOMTOM LIVE, after I bought another map that I wrote on ANOTHER SD card ( a card that I put in the car for recognoation before downlod the new Map) after I made a BACKUP of thes 2 SD cards with TTH and I can now restore the 2 maps on these 2 SD card . So these 2 SD of course have not the same CID and these 2 SD card withe thes 2 maps works fine on CARMINAT TT LiVE in my car. Now I have a full working backup up so I keeep original at home and n the car just the copy.

And what SD cards are you using for the backup? Sandisk?

hello the SD is an SANDISK Ultra 15MB/s SDHC 4GB
The files for France on the SD card are
France-479.meta.dct and France-479.meta, France.pna and for europe
Western_Europe-479.meta.dct and Western_Europe-479.meta,
Western_Europe.pna

Thanks, that confirm that maps supplied with a DCT will work as a backup while all maps supplied with a MCT only work with the original SD card.

With the 9.844 patched navcore, can i use the lastest maps? What version?

No there naw no patched navcore 9.844 working, no possibility to use patched maps from navitotal, just the regular map from TT site with TTH.
And DON'T made a upgrade with TTH of the Radar because now in France that was forbiden so keep old file .OV2 with the dangerous spot POI

I,ve got a problem with original SD card Carminat Renault Fluence 2011. I've lost all data from this card. I didn't do any backup. Is there any chance to get my data and map back?
