I have a tomtom one XL with 1 gig internal memory. I have the version 8 update and I need the newest North american maps, is there a tutorial or a place to download them and install them? This site is a little overwhelming, thanks!

Maps here: All New Maps 865.XXXX

You have 2 US only & 3 USA & Canada maps to choose from. It makes no difference which of the 2 or which of the 3 you select.

To patch navcore & map, go here: FastActivate ENG 28.03.2011 {1.8.6.6} Read the instructions & download the Premium version.

Make a backup of your current setup using windows explorer.
Remove the old map folder & copy in the new folder.
Run FastActivate.
Done!!

I did as instructed and when I start my tomtom it has me select a map, and when I select USA and Canada it says "You cannot use this map on this device: USA_and_Canada" Any ideas? I used maps 865.3262 and the premium fast activator..

Either the navcore or map is not patched. look for a USA & C .meta.dct file in the map folder to confirm that it was patched.
