Completely Stuck - ONE XL with Work/Truck

I have a friend who has a ttone XL and wants the truck maps etc on his tt. I have done this before on a ttone XL with NO problems. This however keeps turning off when i insert the SD card in order to create the .bif file???? It starts up ok and reads the sd card and shows the splash screen then....NOTHING!! Blank screen. I'm completely lost. I have installed a new bootloader onto tt (5.5128) which works fine. I have extracted the Core & Maps & Autoactivate to the 4GBsdhc class 4 card. I haven't run autoactivate until i can get the tt to produce the .bif file. NOW I'M STUCK!! the original .bif reads as follows:

App 8.010 (9369/080529) OS: 190943 32MB Ram (Free 3.9mb) GPS v1.21, Boot 5.5128 then maps details!

It does seem to take a while to start up and i have ran the "Clear Flash" tool 3 times but its still the same.

Is it because of the low RAM??

Can anyone out there help???

App 8.010 is wrong app for truck maps i think

thanks freelanderuk but i know the truck core is 8.395. the info i posted is the original .bif file, which i cant change until i can get the tomtom to produce the bif file on the sd card so i can run autoactivate and get the rest working!!

There is no need to "create" a ttgo.bif file. Copy the one on the internal into the card & paste it. The data in red is not .bif data. Here are the first several lines from a .bif file.

Tried that.......copied original .bif file into root of sd card, ran autoactivate which appeared to work ok...put sd card in tt and......same again!!??????? reads card, shows splash screen then...Blank.

What navcore are you running, confirm you are using 8.395 ? as 8.010 is not truck navcore ?

I have extracted 8.395_1913 to sd card along with Europe_Truck_855_2926 and copied autoactivate to ROOT.

I copied this into the ROOT of the sd card then ran autoactivate. From splash screen the tt boes blank. However i have just noticed that after a minute or two if i try the on/off button the screen flashes the splash screen just for a second before it eventually restarts.

You can't use Europe_Truck_855_2926. There is no meta for it yet. Use 845.2649.

Ive Just this minute formatted the sd card and copied over navcore 8.395_1913 and truck 845_2649 and it still does the same thing........so im completely at a loss!!

Ive just tried a v9 core with uk & ie maps to try on this tt and that worked fine so i dont know why im just having trouble with the TRUCK files????

• Extract http://www.navitotal.com/forums/noref.php?url=http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/8.395.go_work.CAB-navcore-GO-WORK.cab to your blank sd card root
• Extract SE_ttsystem.8.395.1913.rar to your sd card root
• Copy your folder Europe_Truck_845.2649 to your sd card root
• Copy the newest version of AutoActivate to your sd card root and run
• Done

After you follow djc's instructions, check the map folder for a meta.dct file & a tmeta.dct file.
