If your device is not working and you want to restore it, you can do it using TomTom Home software....they provide a good tutorial on how to do that [Please Register or Login to download file]

If you don't have a backup of your previous map, click on the 'I don't have a map to download' link and follow the instructions.

You can come back here to download a new map once you've completed steps 1, 2 & 3 if you need to.
