Postby kmart71 » Wed Mar 09, 2011 10:36 am

I am running a Go 55 Live with Navcore 9.101.516, OS 515773, Boot 5.5259 and am trying to get my device to change to night colours when dark and day colours when light automatically. the device did so before i changed the Navcore, any ideas please.

Many thanks

Copy the attached file into the 550 root. Then Main menu, change preferences, brightness preferences, CHECK Switch to night colors when dark.

Just one other question please, it gives the option to dim the brightness at night, what ever i change it to ( i like it very dim) it goes back to very bright any suggestions? as mentioned i have Navcore 9.101.516, OS 515773, Boot 5.5259 is this the best one for the device or should i update or change.

Many thanks for the help

When does it go back to very bright? How dim are you setting it? I use 10% night brightness.

it goes to full brightness. it refers to the slider or the screen or both? What time of day are you making the adjustment & this occurs?

Hi

at night time, at any time that i change it, it makes no difference, when completely dark rather than at dusk. it does automatically swap from day to night colours fine now.

Are you saying problem solved, or that day/night colors work, but brightness is still an issue?

Yeah, I know I'm posting an answer in an old topic still Google led me to this so I might as well post an answer for others struggling with this problem.

I found a solution for the almost instantly return to day colours when you choose night colours.
This happened a few times to me. This time it was a nice, old and bulky GO 700.

When selecting night colours from the change preference menu (so not the quick menu button) you'll receive some message like 'Night view connected to headlights'

However your docking option in the change preference is greyed out...
The answer lies in connecting it to TT Home and operate the device via TTH and going to the change preference menu on the TT Home computer screen and then you will be able to select the now not greyed out option Docking Options and to deselect 'Connect Night view to headlights'

I assume that this adjustment will be stored on some setting file and that you are likely to get the same effect if you select the option to return to factory settings.
Beware however that this will delete all your personal data like favorites, home address and recent adresses.

I don't recall having seen this issue before. Some units have a light sensor, that changes the unit from day to nite & back to day. Others are controlled by official sunset & sunrise. Some can be changed with voice command.
It all depends on the model, navcore & emu setting.
All of your personal data like favorites, home address and recent addresses are in the mapsettings.cfg file.
I do not give help by PM. It deprives our other members of a chance to learn. Please post your issue in the appropriate forum/thread. You will get an answer.
