DJSC Tom Tom Question

DJSC Tom Tom Question

Postby WarEagle » Sat Jul 24, 2010 3:16 am

So my question was, is there any software to unfreeze a tom tom if the touchscreen wont respond? I saw the flash clear tool and tried that, but my Tom Tom Go 720 doesn't need a flash card (though it does have a slot) and the software didnt seem to fix the unresponsive touich screen of the tom tom. Thanks.

It can be a loose connector or a broken screen too.
The clear flash tool deletes old and unused parts of the internal flash rom - it has nothing to do with a SD card.
For hard problems it is recommended to run the clear flash tool at least 3 times.

do a hard reset (Hold pin-hole reset button for 30seconds) and then run the clear flash tool 3 times, if this still does not work, try changing the application i am running 9.103 on my 720 with no problems, if the problem still persists then it may be your "Lcd touch screen digitizer" You can buy a replacment for not so much money on ebay [Please Register or Login to download file]

Ill give those a try. Think I will download the latest mpas from here as my one from the torrents dont work with the latest easytools and keygen4.1D doesnt get along with mine. Got a link for a US one DJC?

Plus if anyone knows a guide to take the tom tom apart in case I have to go this route with the screen, that would be helpful.

I suggest you take the device apart and give the screen and the frame a good clean up.
Also check the connectors - there are two, one for the display and a smaller one for the touch screen.
If still no luck I would try to get a new touch screen on ebay, without the display they are pretty cheap from China.
