Hi
Unsure of what Sat Nav to get, and after taking advice from Downunder35, I decided to go for the XXL WE version for £99
Im following instructions to download/install the YODA (UK Mtrs) voice and am trouble when it comes to the txt file? I put 3 files into the voices folder, copied the new text (meta file) from within the Yoda thread, and ran the fastactive program but still cant find/run said voice
any ideas please

Only copy the files for the voice into the folder voices, run FA from the root of your device, the meta for the voices is already built into the program.
Activation is the same as for maps or cams.

hi
I unzipped the yoda zip file... it shows 4 files including a meta.txt... do I copy this file over as well into the voices folder?
I followed advice as above, but to no avail. Where would the Yoda Voice option be? Simply in the standard voice settings?

1. No. Delete the meta.txt included in the download. Put the data74.bmp, data74.chk & data74.vif files in the voices folder. Patch with FA 1.8.8.9, then check the voices folder for a data74.chk.dct file.
2. Main Menu, Change preferences, Voices, Change voice.

Hi
followed instructions, and found 4 new yoda files including data104.chk.dct in voices folder. Same goes for the KITT voices?
switched on TT, checked for new voices but ther are none present?
I've also tried Mr T which actually worked, (no patch need for this!) but that the only one I can see
I now just tried to install/patch Homer, and Mr T has disappeared

I have no idea what you are doing, but files do not appear or disappear without the user's imput.
data104.chk is Movie Voiceover Man.

What number is the dataXX.chk file for those 3 voices? IE Yoda is data74.chk.

84, 90 and 104?
I also have some others (standard ones already installed, with numbers over 100)
I also downloaded the 140 voice zip file, (no password needed?) but again, i copy to the voices folder, run FA and although the check comes back as "OK", voices do not appear in folder?

Try this (helped me before):
Start clear and only with one (working) voice installed, e.g. download a voice with Home after installing the NC and map.
Now add one!! additional voice at the time, keeping an eye on the numbers in the filename.
Don't use different files with same names, if necessary you can edit both the filename and the corresponding names inside the textfile for the voice - the must all match.
Last but least for voices that do need activation: make sure to delete all .dct files inside the voices folder before running FA (again).

Hi
Confused me with short speak - what is NC and map? Do you mean use TomTom Home?
However, I tried No 80 (Sean Connery) from the 140 voice folder, renamed to 81 as I already had a number 80 in my voices folder. rang the FA patch and it worked!
Saying that I have 3 lots of 4 files per voice - not sure what voice they are, but files are : (No 74, No 80 and 82)
data74.chk.dct
data74.chk
data74.bmp
data74.vif
Do I need to delete both of the chk/chk.dct files?
Cheers in advance - your help as been great!

.chk and .dct are for activation anf function.
.bmp is the picture you see for the voice and .vif is a textfile containing the voice info.
Don't try to get as many voices as possible on it - just the the ones youe really need ;)
