Europe 1GB South 970 7790 (Low-Level 18 Countries) has the following country,s
Nederland, België, Luxemburg, Duitsland, Frankrijk, Andorra, Denemarken
Gibraltar, Italië, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Oostenrijk, Portugal,
San Marino, Spanje, Vaticaanstad, Zwitserland.
Yes, the above information is wrong, it is:
Low-Level Europe_1GB_South_970_7490 (11 Countries, new coverage, missing France and Monaco) = 377MB:
Andorra, Austria, Gibraltar, Italy, Liechtenstein, Malta, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Switzerland, Vatican City
So, not all of the new 975 Europe maps have metas yet so there can only be 3 options:
1. Follow Razorblatters advice and go for Europe_Central_975_7748 which as said before is 980MB extracted size. You cannot remove poi.dat completely or you will get a map error but you can replace with Italy_975_7748 poi.dat. I just tested this and it appears to work although I can't get a GPS lock as I'm in the UK....however the extracted size is then 863MB so will fit the device.
2. Go with 2 x 970 maps and switch maps:
Low-Level Central_Europe_North_970_7490 (7 Countries, coverage not changed, same as 965_7280 release) = 358MB:
Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland
Low-Level Central_Europe_South_970_7490 (10 Countries, coverage not changed, same as 965_7280 release) = 288MB:
Austria, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Malta, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Vatican City
3. Buy a better TT as it's very old now and doesn't have the space to accommodate the maps for such a long journey. Any TT Go x40 or x50 would be a good upgrade and has an SD card slot so could run fully featured maps like Europe_975_7685. Having advanced features like ALG etc would be a lot better for a trip like the OP's planning.
Personally, I'd go for option 3 as they're not that expensive to buy now & would pay for itself in that one journey.
