I can't get this working for my Carminat ( not live )

I have done ALL the things 2 times now, and Get the message " This card dont fit this unit"

I have Renault Grand scenic III with carmine from 2009

I use navcore 8.42
Europe 950.6493

what do I do wrong. I do What he have wrote in the link for newbies

Are you sure about the exact wording of Tour error message?
Oh wait, you are using a 4 gb and not a 2gb sd-card, right?

maybe i have the wrong navcore, I have found this

navcore_8842.542199.Carminat_TomTom

But in nr. 8 maybe i Wrote : DeviceUniqueID=8.42
and not 8842

8. Create a text file with notepad called ttgo.bif (NOT ttgo.bif.txt) in the root directory of your sd card and inside put these lines:
DeviceName=Carminat TomTom
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX (Your Unique Device ID with no spaces)
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8842 (Your Current navcore version, this is the latest official)

No I have checked I wrote 8842 in the ttgo.bif file

Maybe the map won't fit 8842 ???

what map, the newest EUROPE map does fit navcore : navcore_8842.542199

Any 950 map is compatible with 8842, except 950.6492, 6548 & 6551.

Okay, so the problem seems to be with the sd-card, not the map.

Can you try a 4 GB SD?
Would seem to indicate some sort of bootloader issue only I haven't experienced that.
I know I've never run into any problem with a 4 gb sd and, truthfully, I wouldn't expect one with a 8 gb sdcard since they are both SDHC.

Is also odd that I can't find the exacte phrase 'This card does not match this unit' via Google.

I have tried a 2 gb SD card now with Scandinavia map 950.6493

This i what i do:

Format a SD card.
Put in the car
Then It make a " Loopdir "

Now I only have the folder Loopdir on the card

Then I Extract navcore navcore_8842.542199.Carminat_TomTom
to the card.

Then I have 3 folders. Loopdir and IA0000700006swlimage0 and IA0000700006swlimage1
and a ttsystem file and splash.bmp file

Then I do a new folder " Scandinavian "
Put the scandinavian map In the folder


Then I rename the ~tsystem to ttsystem, the "~tsystem is in the folder " IA0000700006swlimage0 "

The i add ttgo.bif file

And then i use the fast activator on the SD card

Patch the map
Patch the pnd navigator and ttsytem

Then i Delete the file in the " loopdir " folder

put the card in the car and get this message:


There is a problem with the card . You can not use this card in this unit: Scandinavia - 100381

I have also tried to patch the Meta data, nothing works

I found maybe a solution are error on fast activator

when I patch maps It shows

Complete maps : Scandinavia = meta Ok DCT

and also INCOMPLETE maps Scandinavia - 100381 meta. dct

4. Extract it with Winrar, then go to "install/DS_1" and copy these two file
• IA0000700005swlimage0.zip
• IA0000700005swlimage1.zip
> To your sdcard root.

5. Extract these files with winrar (right click > extract here) in the sdcard root (overwrite files if necessary).

I never copy the files to my sd.
But I do extract the contents.
Do you extract both files as indicated? I miss that in your report. Which is probably the reason for your error. Incomplete software.
